Sixpoint Righteous: the ideal autumnal IPA. Deep caramel and spice perked up by piney and citrusy hops

Other Half IPA: some of the first batches of their IPA were exceptional. West Coast IPA w/ cascade, centennial, chinook, simcoe + summit. Dank, bitter, and briskly carbed. Such a stark contrast to the soft and juicy oat creamers of today.

21st Amendment Lower de Boom: Lil’ 8oz can of American Barleywine. Totally could have been marketed as a triple IPA today and be a viable product for them. Hoppy AF, sticky, resin, and a wisp of sweet alcohol. Sexy.

I miss Michael O'shea's Stout. It probably doesn't hold up, but I remember drinking it at house parties in high school in the early 90s. Damn i'm getting old!

Peak Hop Harvest Oktoberfest... just remembered this one. A great beer that just makes sense, and they haven't brewed it in a few years. C'mon Peak... Ofest and hop harvest time are so close to one another... do it again!

Ithaca Brute and LeBleu... those two beers were game changers for me. Maybe Industrial Arts will pick up the torch one day.

Also: Agree 100% with Founders Imperial Stout.

I miss all the wonderful beers put out by Witches Hat in South Lyon, Michigan. Now that our family has moved out of state we can’t enjoy them anymore.

I miss Surly Bender. It's one of the very few beers I would semi-regularly repurchase. It was the first beer ever made, and I think it still may be the best relative to its "style." It's been gone (from distribution, still occassionally available at Surly Beer Hall) for less than a year, but it's really sad that consumer tastes have shifted so far that a superbly executed, fairly hoppy, oatmeal brown porter (a hybrid style, surely, but one that fit in well to the tastes of craft beer geeks of yore), and one of Surly's two original flagships (along with Furious), no longer can move enough units to justify distribution. Coffee Bender still is around, but I don't like coffee. I'm sure Milkshake Bender (with tropical fruit, lactose, and vanilla as well as double-dry-hopped with Sabro cryo, naturally) still would be going strong.

Tremont Ale and Pete’s Wicked Lager. Tremont was great the first few years it was out then it went downhill. Pete’s Ale and their summer were pretty good sellers back in the day but I thought their lager hit the spot!

Honkers ale. I drank it a long time ago and then rediscovered it within the past two years. Sadly it’s no longer in production. Edit: no longer in distribution. Apparently still on draft at goose island brewery.

I thought I mentioned Sublimely Self Righteous, if I’m mistaken here I nominate that one. I know I did in one thread.

Stone Levitation and Sublimely. They still make Lukcy Batsard (or however the hell they spelled it)? Haven't seen it for a while either.

My bachelor party 30 years ago started at Stash's. I saw that it was torn down recently to fit in with what you are saying.

I spent most of my time at Bachmann's on St. Georges. The city made Bachmann tear it down about 10 years ago. He had it rebuilt, but never reopened because of problems with the building code/inspectors etc. in the rumors that went around.

I too miss the old man bars. Rheingold Extra dry too from that era. Ballantine IPA from the fancy section of the beer stores too.

Nostalgia alone is not a business plan. I never tried the most recent iteration. I'll just remember the beer and the times. They were good.

Old Troegs seasonal offerings (Dead Reckoning, Nut Brown, Cultivator, etc)... Yeah, some are available at the brewery only, but that is a pain in the butt... I'm not a fan of the new "hop cycle," and skip on most (Hopback Amber, Nugger Nectar and Perpetual are good enough for me)...

Probably why Champagne Velvet was only rebooted by Upland. It would never comeback otherwise.
