Phase Three Brewing (2019)

Now that we've had some time to see how diverse P3's can art can be, I assume I'm not the only one that thinks that they're actually doing a really nice job design-wise? The IPAs/DIPAs are kinda samey looking, imo, but it seems like that's an intentional attempt to make them easier to recognize when you're checking the shelves of your local shop weekly. Then you have all the "special" releases (Pils, the stouts, this collab, etc.) that jump out due to looking nothing like the hoppy stuff.

This collab can in particular is killer, and I really liked the one with WeldWerks too.

 

The branding is really starting to come together and make sense. I guess when you almost never make the same beer twice its hard to show the world what you're trying to do in the first 4 cans.

 

Not a fan of the white cans but have to admit that it really makes their more special releases "Pop" when you see them.

 

Yeah their cans designs are sleek. Shaun’s wife does a nice job on these, though the Henna label is still my favorite of her work so far

 

She designs all this shit? Badass.

 

Not quite sure how I feel about Cross Pollination, but this much is obvious...they did NOT skimp on the honey.

I've had a number of IPA's brewed with honey, and NONE are as honey-forward, flavor-wise, as this beer.

If anything, it may have too much honey for me.

I believe so. I know Shaun said in a podcast she does all the Phase Three graphic design, and one of the bartenders at MoRE told me she did the Henna label when I asked who designed the artwork.

It’s kind of funny how beer art/labels has gotten me into buying some prints and pieces for my walls. Jourdon Gullett of Solemn Oath and Dan Grzeca of Hop Butcher (and some of 3 Floyd’s) are my favorites

I loved Dan's Grzeca's work from the FFF stuff before he started doing HBs art. I also am a big fan of Phineas X's stuff from Half Acre's first 4 or 5 years. Not sure if he is still there or if his style changed, but the art isn't the same.

 

Who wants honey, as long as there's some money?

My guess is Sunday. If I remember correctly the last release was around 11am on a Sunday when they announced the 4 or 5 locations on social media

 

Yeah was thinking the same....but then remembered Side Note Chocolatte and I got excited again. It’ll be interesting if it’s Saturday or 10am Sunday again
