Would 2 VSB b2 with a plus land a Maman '18, or would I need a better anchor? Also, what kind of plus, if that is relatively close? Thanks!

In theory yes, but think you are right that you may need a 'bigger' anchor. But with two VSB, I'd expect a plus as something around a number crunch b2, maybe something slightly higher due to you would be trading up.

I have a few MS bottles and I would pass only because I just love MS. However I think you are pretty close with a 1-1 trade as vaule of MS is pretty low for how good the beer really is.

1:1 is close. I've heard rumblings of MDb6 so I wouldn't be too shocked if the value fell. I'm on the other side of MS, I didn't think it lived up to perceived value. To each their own!

I'm with you on this. Granted, I've only had the coconut version, but considering all the hype, I was a bit let down when I tried it (which fortunately I shared with a friend and didn't have to buy or trade for).

That being said, we must be in the minority, as the lines are long whenever HM does a MS release, and it's been highly sought after in the trade forums for quite some time. As you indicated, each to their own.

Apologies if this is the wrong venue to chime in on the subject, but it feels pertinent that Morning Delight b4 was hands down one of the most disappointing beers I’ve tried. Burnt, stale coffee for days.

I haven’t had the pleasure of trying Midnight Still.

Really? I thought it was excellent.... obviously take that with a grain of salt since I have bottles but I really did think it was a solid offering. That’s fine plenty happy keeping them as well.

Hello all - looking for some help. Been out of the trading game for a few years and wanted to get some opinion on some value.

Been looking for HF so was ISO Sue, Flora Plum, and Beyond Good and Evil.

Was thinking FT I'd go with Beat #8, #9, SARA Cellarman, SARA Like Minds x2, and SARA Deep Time. Am I way off on the values here? None of these are whales so maybe this is one of those worth it if you want it type things?

Some will know better than me, but I think that’s more than reasonable and or maybe overkill. Like minds is a SARA club bottle, correct? I think that helps a lot. Cellarman is great. Plus, I feel like Beat has become a bit overlooked, but is always outstanding.

I think you’ll need the right set of eyes, but this could certainly do it. Good luck.

Like Minds had its first public release this weekend, but I would say it should trade fairly easy for some HF similar type beers.

Anyone seen crianza close on any trade boards recently? Was thinking it was at the 2x handjeeish level but maybe I’m wrong?

I think it's too early to judge the value. I traded for it purely bc it's been a past whale my little brother wanted but never got to try. This does for the moment sound like a good trade although Maman is hard to trade up for always.

This is not a trade value question but perhaps someone could be of help. I found some 3F lambics on the shelf at a local booze mega store. Everything seemed about right on price from what I've seen in the past. OG 375's 12$, A&G 750's $30 but they had Hommage for $50! Is that an extreme markup or normal price? These were all from march 2018.

Hommage is priced higher than all the others in my area. Not for certain, but I think Hommage may have been $48.

    A 750? That’s a normal price for Hommage stateside.

Also, after a quick google, it looks like online options in US and Europe have it priced around 55-60$ or 32-42 euros.

In Ontario it was C$49.95 recently, but with a 2/person allocation.

Did not get a chance to visit, but there was a beer store around Detroit when I was there awhile back that showed on beermenu that they had Hommage for around 50-55.

Yeah pretty common place on the west coast. We are getting flooded with it but drie fonteinin isn't moving bc the cost. A&G mags here for $100, Golden blend 750ml are $60. Homage is $50 and all of them are just sitting

Same here in PDX. I want to say we got a huge drop some months back, and it's still all over town. It's just not moving.

I think part of the problem is that there are really a lot of sour options here in PDX, almost all of which are considerably cheaper than 3F. People know it's a highly regarded beer and usually not all that easy to come by, but just as you said, they just aren't willing to pull the trigger, given the high cost.
