Do you and 'this guy' also have the same name? If not, that's how it could matter if they used birthday and first + last name to match duplicate entries. Although it would be pretty funny if there were two guys named John Smith who have the exact same birthday, and they were being eliminated from all lotteries because of it.

The bottom line is nobody here knows how they run these random lotteries, and like mentioned, I hope it stays that way. I've been lucky enough and happen to be selected more often than not on lotteries I enter (Assassin, Hill Farmstead Ann, multiple MoRE, just to name the last few). How does that happen? Who the F knows. Pure blind luck probably. But I can tell you that each time, I enter one name... one e-mail. That's it.

That's interesting. I did the lottos for their bourbon county day and it was just entering email info.

    Prop Day?

It was certainly more than just name, birthday etc. I am 99% sure it included something like drivers license #. I recall that 2 years ago this was not the case, because I tried to enter multiple times, then others on the board said they had a sorting system. Then last year they had a more complex set of information that had to be entered, and I seem to recall that being included.

Won’t put it past me that I could be wrong, but given the several likes I assume I am not crazy on last year’s entry.

I’ll throw in my 2 cents since it’s the first and probably only more lottery I’ll enter. It just happened to fall when I was in Chicago which is now and barleywines are my wife’s fav style of beer and age it in bourbon barrels and well it’s a good night for me. Plus im a fan of them as well.

I lost but I like lotteries second to just flat out buying tickets on line. I’ve been in one line, Nillerzzzzz b2. Will never do a line again. I get there at 4AM and clearly less than 450 there over the next 3 hours people come by and I fall between 350-380. Guy from forager comes and counts at 815AM and I’m like 410 and says you’re safe. I get up to get my band and I’m 430, I still get my bottle, but people pulling up in Uber’s, running out of cars coming from god knows where to jump in with friends in front of me. Text my brother whose been doing this for over a decade and he’s like yea that’s common place with lining up. Not to mention the first people in line at 230 PM were no where to be found between the hours of 4-730, yet still got the first and second lot. Lines are terrible you waste a lot of hours of your life for people to just run out of no where and mule for people. Lotteries are difficult I feel like they are open for abuse, but at least it’s possible random. I have won 1 lottery and that was MD b6 but I feel like every who wanted to travel won that as they did a round 2 and 3 of drawing. But buying out right the best way to me, everyone gets a even shot.

As far as drivers license goes, TG used to have people input their license number but people complained about having to put too much sensitive information online or to them and so they stopped 2 years ago. I can tell you for sure MD b3 they checked that, but stopped by MD b4

Sorry yes prop day and I’m positive I did not enter a license number this last year. It was just a quick submission that you could do every day for a week. I’m sure it’s been different in the past though

I can count on 1 hand the number of releases or fests that I like enough to put up with the line cutting b.s. Most of those are ones I've gone to previously so it's more of a tradition thing but line swell/cutting is the worst and it's maddeningly frustrating.

Since this topic was brought up - Can anyone confirm (my memory is hazy) that this was a seemingly non-existent problem at 2018 Binny's Black Friday? I seem to recall people saying that the Cattle corral in the parking lot made this a 99% non-issue.

Edit: AND the presence of Binny employees being present all night to hand out numbered wrist bands.

I was there most of the night and morning working. Definitely one of Goose's better releases at Binny's, especially compared to previous years. Cattle corral did it's trick and so did Binny's + Goose employees walking up and down the line periodically.

But wasn’t the 2018 Binny’s bourbon county release the one where you could essentially get a ticket super early and just leave until they reassembled the line the next morning?

I didn't see any/much of that occurring. I'm sure you could, since you already had a ticket with a number, but it wasn't happening around me.

    Haha...BCBS over family, bro!

This year, though, something trumps both BCBS and family...Thanksgiving in the Aloha State!

Kona has surprisingly descent on-site only offerings, and the taproom is really nice... at least the one on Waikiki.

Saying the taproom is nice is an understatement. We sat on the patio there and it was absolutely beautiful. Right on the harbor and looking out into the mountains all around.

Just bring your MI family a deep dish pizza next year to make amends .

Going to Oahu? If so, check out Inu Island Ales and report back. Please and thank you. I keep trying to get my deadbeat friend who lives there to send me some crowlers.

EDIT: Oh, and thanks for leaving me alone in line this year to drink @Quilentro infected beers.

This. @croush and I were maybe 100 people apart in line. I didn't see anyone around me really doing that. Most people were sleeping or socializing. In general, 2018 was run in a FAR superior way to 2017 which was a disaster of epic proportions. Last year was very well run and just a fun time. The pancakes and coffee were a really nice touch.

There was one flaw in the system that got exposed on here though. The BA was on here talking about how his pregnant wife got a second wristband. IIRC, basically after getting her first band, come sun up and hearing there were still tickets available, she went to the end of the line, got another band on her other arm, then went back to her original spot. They were far enough ahead where they got out with their first allotment, handed it off, then got right back into the end of the line and picked up a second one. Maybe I'm being too simple, but I'm guessing this could be pretty easily fixed by a fat permanent marker and staff asking to see both arms of people when checking them on the way in.

And now back to your regularly scheduled mango frooted programming...
