Read it carefully, it says "for included bottles".

Bruery-only Hoarders makes my decision easy! Really hoping the boxes have Bruery-only option as well. Definitely some missteps in 2019, but for me personally the Bruery-only option trumps all of that noise.

Yep, that is what I think most of us non-sour drinkers were hoping for. We don’t have to front $300+ for a bunch of included bottles that we won’t appreciate. I don’t expect them to split up Hoarders boxes as well, but it would be a welcome option, and one that a number of people have asked for on here (and in feedback/surveys).

This response is perfect. I have nothing to add.

Assuming it works just like Bruery only RS, all included bottles will be HS allocations of Bruery only but you still have access to buy all the sours you want.

I’m in the RS blend and there are some beers that aren’t available to me that are Terreux only RS. Just wanted HS people to know, before it becomes an issue.

AFAIK, all non-Hoarders Terreux beers are available to RS to buy during the allocation period

Nope there's been a few Terreux beers that Bruery only RS hasn't gotten access too, most recently the Side Project collab

Did Terreux only members have access to buy more of the collab?

IIRC, the first year they divided up the RS, Black & Blue BBLs was Terreux only and PB&J Thursday was Bruery Only. But that was clearly outlined in the initial included bottles.

I remembered asking if Bruery Only had access to purchase all Terreux offereings and I think Joel said yes. If there are beers that don't pop up in the allocations, then that has changed. So, to Daniel's question. Did they only have enough Side Project to fill the included beers? Or were the allocations only available to Terreux Only members? This may affect peoples decision as to the membership type.

RS mixed got PB and J Thursday and Black and Blue BBLs included and had both as allocations. Not sure how the allocations were for Bruery and Terreux only members

    • Hoarders can choose between The Bruery only, The Bruery Terreux only, or a mix of both for included bottles
Gameeeee changer for me. The people I give my terreux stuff to will be sad but oh well. I'll echo the statement (but don't expect it) Bruery only hoarders box would be awesome. But Bruery only included bottles is a huge step forward for me

And yeah it's only for included bottles so if you didn't get access to something (to buy) it's not because you chose Bruery only or Terreux only it's because they didn't sell to anyone. I.e. the PB&Jelly Thursday at the beginning of last year, and most recently the Side Project stuff.

Right. But I guess my point was that there wasn't any plan to make those available to anyone else for purchase. Everything else was supposed to be available for purchase. Even if it wasn't in your included list.

They haven’t offered any additional of the Side Project collabs to purchase because of lower yield. I think there’s one more coming sometime so not sure how that will be. I don’t think they’d be dumb enough to restrict allocations between HS Bruery/Terreaux. I’ve been wrong before though.

    Never Assume

    False!

    Correct!

One Hoarder benefit was that we get access to everything. I hope we don't see a situation there are Terreux or Bruery included bottles that Hoarders not getting included bottles are shut out of purchasing bottles.

I’m intrigued by the new Hoarders options, and look forward to the details soon. I was leaning towards not re-upping with HS, but I would enjoy being able to get Terreux-only and just have access to buying the (typically) heavier Bruery stuff when a bottle/can looks good (I usually drink sours more frequently than the big bois these days). It all depends on what sours will be included though—I’m good (forever) on More Room for More, but love the beer-wine hybrids and funky/spontaneous stuff.

You rock. I'm hoping there's a lot of folks like you because I've always had the impression (and I could be way wrong) that they've worried if Terreux wasn't bundled in with the marquee big beers that no one would want them. I don't like sours myself, but I feel like I hear tons of rave reviews. Would be great to see Terreux stand on its own!

Obviously I'm really excited for the Bruery only option... the wild card being whether there are bottles that will be "included" only and not available for allocation purchase, and if for example you need the "mixed" membership to get them. That could sour things (pun intended).

So again, I'll re-emphasize, a benefit we have today in HS is we have access to everything. I to think the included bottle option may be a big improvement, as I lean heavily toward the Bruery side.

But even though I am not a sour guy, I think the Side Project collaboration Mousseux Natuerel was one of the best bottles of the year. If it was not included, I would have bought it. But it was included bottles only, due to yield.

So are we giving up one benefit to get another? Or are we just adjusting included bottles?:

It would be great if they could state that HS, still get access, even if that is one bottle for purchase, to everything.

Much like with RS I'm sure purchase allocations will be the same for all HS flavors... If only because administering them differently would be way too much work.

I think your example is right on in that yield shortage situations are unplanned and therefore part of the risk we'd all take doing a non-mixed option.
