    I'll have to keep an eye out for the others, but do enjoy my Cynar. My faves are Ramazzotti and Fernet Branca, but Averna is also good in a pinch. The great thing is that they are becoming more popular lately- perhaps there could even be some crossover appeal to BAs due to the bitterness factor. You never know...

    Decided to go with SN Northern Hemisphere Harvest Ale tonight. I found it to be balanced and quite good. A wonderful representation of the style, in my opinion. However, after trying a wide range of IPA's, I've found my favorites to be the ones with strong fruit/citrus flavors.

    10 year old bigfoot courtesy of extremely generous BA csano. all sorts of smooth, delicious malty flavor going on here, with oily, pine/anise-like hops underneath even 10 years later. outrageously not-destroyed by oxidation; lighter oxidation influence than in most 2 year old beers. love it.

    pardon the BCBS in the background. for what it's worth, i picked it up for my friend who i'll be seeing on thanksgiving.
