In this case it is safe to assume.

Curious what the breakdown of Bruery/Terreaux/Mix will be for next year and if the split would allow them to increase HS membership number without necessarily increasing total output?

So you want to be exempted from included Terreux bottles, by being in HS Bruery only
but in the case that there's a Terreux bottle you want
You also want to lock in 100% guaranteed access to it?

I mean I get your angle in asking for that, but that's a bit much man. That's a very slippery slope towards "why have included beers at all" ... I only want to cherry pick the ones I want, but I also want guaranteed access to everything I want, and godforbid anyone gets more access than me, I shall throw a fit on the internet upon thou!

<<not saying you in particular but people have that attitude, and at the end of the day the Bruery is making all these beers, that we've demanded they don't distro or even sell to non-members, and they have to get rid of them somehow. If they WERE to get rid of included beers, I imagine they'd eventually have to offer them to RS when they have exhausted the amount of people in HS who want to buy, which makes sense if they over produce, but then people will complain that it was supposed to be HS only>>

Also, I'm pretty sure the only (not HS-only) Terreux that RS mixed didn't get a chance to buy, was the SP one this month. Yield is messed up, it is what it is, it was spread thin, one per HS and 1 per Terreux only, which while I'm bummed I didn't get one, that solution makes sense if they didn't have enough to do 1pp for mixed RS too.

So again, to try to clarify what I am saying.

Today, as a Hoarder, I get access to everything. Is it a 100% guarantee? No. But was a stated benefit, one that The Bruery has lived up to, and one that I value.

I also get the unexpected yield situations could lead to unexpected included only bottles. While disappointing, I think we would all cut them some slack when this happens.

However, The RS Bruery only and Terruex only options had planned included only bottles that were inaccessible by the other opton. Black and Blue BBLs is an example. But Hoarders got access to all them.

I view advanced payment of pre-selected bottles as the cost of membership, not a benefit that I worry about might be scaled back. While I do enjoy all included bottles I get, there are many that I would not buy, if they were not included. So yes, I do prefer to choose the bottles I want buy. One of the reasons I upgraded from PS to RS many years ago, was because of the access to bottles I could choose to purchase. PS is a great program, but the ability to purchase what I want was more important to me.

So in the end, yes, I am less excited about an HS Bruery Only or Terruex option if it means giving up access.

Although, I expect they will still have a mixed option, and if I remember correctly the mixed RS option did get access to all planned included only bottles. That seems like a reasonable compromise.

I would say my outlook and expectations match yours. I think the potential difficult decision will come if they structure the plans to try and encourage the blended package.

For example, how would you feel if they hypothetically did a BT Reserve variant you were excited about, only one bottle of which was included with Bruery-only, two were included with the blended membership, and none with Terreux. Then, when the beer is released, it turns out the allocation is only one bottle available to buy per person?

I would be surprised, if they did that, but even if they did, I would be OK with it. As I would either be in The Bruery only or the mixed option. So I would get, one or two bottles, plus the option to buy one more. That is access to me, so I'm good. Even Terruex only has access, in this example, because they can purchase a bottle.

Judging from how the RS options work, I would say a more likely scenario is:
    0 - BTR - Terruex
    1 - BTR - mixed
    2 - BTR - Bruery
    with no allocations to purchase.

But even this I am OK with, because if I preferred Terruex, but wanted access to BTR, I could join the mixed option.

As long any "included only" bottles are in the mixed option or there is an allocation to purchase, the access I'm looking for is there.

Then don't sign up for Terreux only, if there's even a sliver of a chance that a non-Terreux beer is a must have?

Although I will say if they had a HS-Terreux only, that HS-mixed didn't get access too, that would be kinda crazy, I hope that's not something that they are considering.

I can't really imagine someone who only buys one half of the Bruery portfolio, getting into HS. I mean I guess it's possible, and I guess you might skew to one side of the house for some reason (like you used to like sours but now they don't agree with your gut), but I feel like 'most' of us are down with the funk as well as the big abv bruisers (if you like basic beers, I kind of think you wouldn't be in RS to start out with, much less HS).

This is a pretty interesting discussion. I’m heavily leaning towards Bruery-only because my Bruery/Terreux ratio is conservatively 10:1, but I’d hate getting shut out on sales of beers like Imperial Cabinet, Train to Beersel and SITR Kumquats, so of that is a consequence, I’d stick with mixed.

Nevertheless, I love that The Bruery is doing this, as it shows that they have been listening to a lot of the feedback they’ve been receiving.

Is it kosher, or frowned upon, to offer certain included bottles I might not want, for trade with other members?

It’s fine to offer your bottles up for trade, but you should stick to the various trading forums, rather than using this thread (or any others outside the official trading forums).

The Bruery would do something like that and it would be awful.

This has happened this year for RS-mixed. Yields are yields, so you (HS-mixed)may miss out. It doesn’t bother me that I was unable to purchase the collabs, but I’m a little easier going then most on here. *this is NOT directed at Prince C.*

I wonder if we'll get a sneak peek at renewal terms before they go on sale next Wednesday...
