Medium Range: Continue to enjoy as many great brews as possible. (And hopefully keep my liver off of life support.)

Long Range: Gonna have to steal the OP's idea on this one. Going to Weihenstephan, and Ayinger has always been at the top of my beer bucket list. Going for the 1,000 year anniversary of Weihenstephaner would be a truly once in a millennia experience! :beers:

Short Range- I’ve gained a few lbs this summer. Thinking of doing a short beer fast until the Hudson Valley Craft Beer Festival 9/14.
Medium Range- I didn’t homebrew this summer. I plan on investing in better equipment and getting back into that.
Long Range- I don’t think that far.

Only need two beers from two more states to have all 51 (DC included) would be one goal. Not sure how long it will take to get them though so not sure what time range to make that.

The other would be try a taproom in all 51 states as well since a bucket list item is to visit all 50 states anyways. So they go hand in hand, if I just HAPPEN to go to a brewery, its purely coincidence. As an alternative, would be to go to a hop harvesting operation like at Bale Breaker here in Yakima, WA. Can't begin to imagine the aroma of piles and mountains of hops all around me.

We had a great time on the Trip in the Woods tour recently. 1.5mi hike with a nice tasting in the picnic area including some of the Trip in the Woods offerings.

There are indeed some nice hiking trails there. We had a bit of time to kill before our scheduled tour time and I enjoyed the hike we took. We even saw a group (called a rafter) of turkeys on that walk.

While I was attending HomebrewCon 2019 a couple of months ago I learned there was a place to dock your kayak and enjoy SN beers there.

    It just keeps getting better!

    Cheers to SN Mills River!!

    Cheers!

Do the most absolutely local approach taken to extreme, and drink exclusively as much as possible beer I brew!

I just got back from Bavaria and have (hopefully) scratched that itch for a little while.

I had a blast in Belgium a few years ago and look forward to returning in the next couple years. Hopefully this time without the need for a rental car. Driving in Brussels is a Hell I'd wish upon no one. I'd also really like to head back to Portland in the near future.

Long term, I'd really like to do a beer-centric tour of the UK someday.

That would be my first destination (starting to feel I'm in the minority, here). No idea where I'd start, though. Less interested in their newer, Americentric craft scene, which by the sounds of it seems to be taking over

I am considering a Belgium trip in the next 2-3 years, what would your recommendation be to tour Brussels and the countryside? Ideally we would go to the better beer bars/cafes as well as go directly to breweries. Cheers! Tom

Hang out in the boonies and see what beverages you might find. The borderlands are always most interesting-The Netherlands, France, Germany, and Luxembourg.

That's a post that could probably be the length of a book, but my wife and I stayed in Brussels near the Grand Place. You can reach a ton of high profile spots like Cantillon, Moeder Lambic, Monk, and multiple Delirium locations on foot from there.
We took road trips to Dusseldorf and Poperinge (St. Sixtus) as well as smaller trips to Beersel and and other parts of Brussels. Supposedly you can reach most of those places via train with some proper planning. I regret not visiting Bruges, so those are some definite changes I'd personally make. Driving outside of town is no problem at all, but in Brussels proper it's maddening.

Didn't have any long-term plans, but now I've got to go to this stupid 1000 anniversary thing.

Medium term, I really want to become a certified cicerone. I know I can pass that test if I buckle down and study, just can’t find the time right now.

Short term, I want to travel more and visit more breweries. I drink 90+% packaged beer. Would like to get to taprooms and drink more one offs or just styles that aren’t as common.
