I got together with a friend last week for lunch and he asked whether I was still driving this car. I was proud to report: yes! I am hoping to get at least another 2 years out of this car (fingers crossed!).

    Cheers!

My 05 Honda Element has 260K miles and runs like a top. I would drive it cross country tomorrow. I used to haul 40-45 cases of mixed beer and wine to Asheville and Boone, up the escarpment. It's by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. That big Honda engine is fabulous.

Local ice house has Shiner Cheer on every year when it is released. They also put the other Shiner rotators on that same tap. Every beer off of that line taste like peach for the whole year. I said something once, but they ignored me. Now when I go there I try to judge if that rotator will taste good with a hint of peach in the background. I go there because the margaritas are killer.

I buy both imports and local Oktoberfests, whenever I see them.

NONE of your locals release Oktoberfests in August?

Some bottle/can their beers mid- August and I am willing to purchase those beers the first week of September. Those beers are a couple of weeks old at that point.

Make your own personal decisions on when you want to purchase Oktoberfest beers.

    Cheers!

My question was about a certain type of beer, not whether you think it is in season.
I was thinking about long ago and this topic popped into my head, sue me.
One or two got it but no one else. Just a question that's all.

It's an interesting phenomenon with two major factors at play. 1) Since we are such a small brewery, producing a 6 week lager in such quantities requires serious planning on our side so that we can also continue to produce our regular lineup... the only way we can do this is to brew it early and sit on it for a bit. We brewed the first batch of Brock in June and packaged it at the end of July and the last batch was packaged on Aug 21. This was the only way we were going to be able to produce what the market was demanding. 2) Oddly enough, we held onto everything in our cooler until Mid-August which was two weeks later than when our distributor wanted it because the retailers were asking for it at the beginning of August (or at least some of them were). It would be my preference to not release it until Sep 1 but the market has different plans.

Kudos to you for making the decision to continually store your beers cold and not release it until later in the month of August.

When I see Oktoberfest beers sitting in my local Retail Beer Distributors and baking (and 'dying') throughout the month of August I just shake my head.:slight_frown:

    Cheers!
