    Not just for breakfast . . .

Hazy gold color in a lighter shade with white cap and good lacing.

Scent of clean, piney, herbal hops with a citrus undercurrent.

On entry malt is more apparent than in the scent with just a hint of sweetness. Hops are upfront from the beginning with multiple flavors of pine, lemon zest, a touch of ripe tropical fruit and that herbal thing still going on. Sharp herbs like fresh Basil which is to say savory rather than sweet. A fully flavorful 4.9% beer that punches above it's weight.

Medium to full texture with balancing carbonation.

A complex brew with complementary flavors well blended together.

Made to Brussels for a couple of days before heading back to California. Cantillon is closed, but Moeder Lambic isn’t! Starting with a Cuvée Saint-Gilloise from Cantillon. Cheers!

Having a cheap Pilsner from the gas station, at the hotel, which happened to be part of a sports complex. So, I'll post pics of my drunk decathlon later on...

Have you tried the beers Cantillon makes for Moeder Lambic? They're quite interesting!

No golf today. All my playing partners have a variety of old guy ailments.
Doing a little work at home and drinking this "hazy IPA" brewed for Hopsy.

I did try one a while back, but not this time. Looks like they have a few on the list - might be on tomorrow's agenda!

I can see that the venerable @Beersnake1 is honoring the as much valued Belgian beers today. I’ll join in with Chimay then:

Lot’s of chores this morning, and paperwork to review and sign...looks like we are buying a house! Lunch beer is CW’s “Rye Barrel Chocolate Porter” (2019), their Imperial Porter aged in Rye Barrels with Cocoa Nibs added:

    This is one ugly beer:

Murky brown pour with tons of floaties; fast fizzy tan/brown head; no ring no lace no legs; oily cap; dusty sediment coats the glass. Hot whiskey nose. Rye whiskey taste; sweet malt base; some chocolate. Medium lite body, greasy feel; some alcohol (12.65%) astringency; moderate minus carbonation; drying barrel linger. Overall, an ugly beer that tastes hot/phenolic; barely any chocolate; a rare poor showing from one of my favorite brewers.

Enjoying my day off. First, a Chocolate Macaroon Imperial Stout on tap ...

...and then I picked up some more beer, including another four pack of Double Trouble, which means I am free to pop this one open:

Left Hand Wheels Gose Round 4.4%. Nice and light. Nice wheat malt flavor goes good with the raspberry and lemon peel. Not too tart. Not overly salty. I like it.

I love the main square in Brussels a lot, especially when it clears out from a bit of rain.

To follow the pattern, as propagated by @Shanex, I will crack another Belgian beer. Another new one for me - this time a Bruin. Cheers all!
