It's about time! I'm so sick of not talking about this...

By the way, what do you think about glass bottles vs. cans?

Comment based on what I've had . haven't gotten my hands on Nelson or any other alpines. no matter what - my state has been killing it with the IPAs and I'm spoiled.

I'm waiting for a multitude of threads titled, "I have found my Heady Topper Killer," or some other shit. Until we see a multitude of such threads, Pliny reigns supreme. I'm also waiting for the Bros to ban such panty-waste threads like this one.

Thanks for clarifying that. For some reason I always thought it was panty-waist. Either way the phrase makes no sense.
But yeah, you're right. People wouldn't make such a big deal about dethroning Pliny if it was just any other beer.

I still think Hopslam is the best DIPA out there, although Heady is a close second for me. I've had tons of DIPAs that I think are better than Pliny, too many to list so Ill just give a shout out to Boy King which is one of my new favorites.

Now, if Head Hunter were locally available to me I would certainly purchase it when I wanted a solid IPA but nothing to freak out about; neither is Pliny.

These threads just prove how stable and how great a brew like PTE is. Look at the # of reviews, and it has withstood the test of time magnificently. Surprise surprise other brewers also make great IPA's too, well no shit. I love HT, I'm driving from Nc to Vt to buy some fresh then visit my son in NY, but it doesn't diminish the greatness of PTE. I can drink them back to back and appreciate that they're both great, but different, that can be done and be true ya know.

If you are like me, and aren't a big fan of IPA's.. then it doesn't matter... I do like a few dIPA's... but don't love any...

Had a bottle of Kiwi last night. Amazing. Makes me want to zip up to Jack's Abby to get some more. If they still have any, that is...

Is Plinny the IPA you'd find in a sitcom where they won't license the actual Pliny labels? I can see it in the fridge next to the familiar looking red and white cans that just say Cola instead of Coke.

I think the main point of this thread was to correctly point out that Head Hunter is among the worlds best IPA's.

That and to make me aware of a beer called "Kiwi Rising", which is a fantastic name.

My top 5 IPA's in order: Head Hunter, White Rajah, Furious, Columbus IPA and Odell IPA. (still need to try Nelson & Duet though). For me, Columbus IPA and Odell IPA were the biggest shockers, as I wasn't expecting either one to be so damn good!

My top 5 DIPA's in order: Abner, Kern Citra, Abrasive, Heady Topper and Myrcenary.
