I know you know this, but you don't have to go. If it makes your day less pleasant or more difficult, what's the point? The compulsion to tick, to never miss anything? They're powerful forces, I get it, but we do well to resist them.

With the top breweries, we're talking about the finest of margins between beers, if those differences are even reliably discernible at all. If we all went into a coma for 6 months and then casually walked in on the next routine release from OH, the offerings would be just as good as all those we were incapacitated for. We'd have lost nothing except the time.

If beer's causing us stress, respectfully, we're doing it wrong.

It’s like if Shakespeare wrote the Karma Sutra of beer

I have had zero beer in my apartment for 4 weeks now. I planned on getting a reasonable amount to share for labor day weekend (e.g. a case or less). The other breweries that I can get to on subway do not interest me this week. So it's OH or....Whiteclaws.

I had to live everywhere else first, before I finally felt ready for Brooklyn. Not all of us are fortunate enough to have been born here by sheer happenstance.

There's a whole lot of back patting going on here over having collectively achieved beer nirvana without standing on a line. On any given day OH has world class beers and lining up is a thing of the past. It's ok to revert back to FOMO mode once in a while for the hype releases though.

I'm taking a long lunch break tomorrow to go down to OH at 1. I told my boss I may or may not be back in the afternoon depending on how long it takes. He said whatever it's a Friday before a long weekend. I'm buying the PBJ beer despite us making fun of it, and I'm quietly hoping they drop the Galaxy cans so I can get that instead and save me from myself.

Then I'm going to hop on metro north and take the train home to beacon so I can go stand on line at Hudson Valley and buy more beer. I'm doing this because we have a party coming up on Saturday and I want to have good beer for my guests. I also just like good beer.

Is this going to be an Anniversary type line tomorrow? Just trying to get an idea of how bad it can really be. LOL

Do people leave and come back after getting the wristbands? I understand it's to counter line cutting.

Would it kill them to give them away to the first 2000 fans? While they're at it, they should sell the wristbands too.

I’ve never lined up for a big release (hop showers crew shout out), but the impression I get is you stick around vs somewhere like HVB where you can go away for a bit. Maybe someone who knows better can confirm tho.

    “Initiate operation boost”

    [wristband post goes up]

“Shit engagement is up 200%. My god 350%. Fuck me - 600%”
