I saw it was on tap at LuLu's public house at the state fair.

Hyvee Liquor in Plymouth as of yesterday. They're a hidden gem to look for releases hanging around a bit, especially Lupulin, TG, and Modist.

 

SLL had quite a bit yesterday.

 

Anybody know if Greg, formerly the "beer guy" at Apple Valley #3, is still in the business? My ability to get new and limited releases has gone into the crapper since he left.

 

Just picked up a 4 pack at Liquor Barrel in Golden Valley

 

I relied on his Twitter posts a lot for new releases. So much for that now. Any clue why he left?

 

Maybe I missed it, but has anyone actually seen double two hearted bottles yet?

 

I would also like to know if anyone has insight on Bells Double Two Hearted!

 

Alls I know is that what was being served at Lulu's during the State Fair WAS NOT Double Two Hearted.

 

An interesting idea on where he went, but pure speculation. Lakeville Liquors (LL) was hiring and they have had a long-time beer club. Additionally, the AV1 beer guy/manager maybe 5 years ago left and went to LL - think his name was Scott, so Greg would have a connection there.

From conversations with the AV1 guy back in the day and Greg - the AV pay was not very good and Greg had been threatened by beer nerds that missed out on special releases. Greg also mentioned Total Wine has significantly impacted sales at AV. Two very good reasons on why to leave and a third that may have had some direct or indirect impact.

 

Threatening a beer buyer because you missed out on a limited release?? Dear me that's low!

On a different note, there are quite a few breweries in the Twin Cities that are offering a free pint in exchange for 4-5 plastic can holders.Among them are Modist, Indeed, 56 Brewing and Utepils. Possibly others that I'm forgetting.

 

I was listening to 9/5 Beer Show podcast and they had a rep from Bells Brewery on. He said the Double Two Hearted will be shipping to MN next week. "Should arrive middle to end of September"

 

Hopefully Hohensteines does not let it sit on pallets for 3 weeks b4 delivery to stores
