My local stores get very inconsistent allocations (zero variants, of course). In 2017, they got a ton of it, and cases were around for months stacked nearly to the ceiling. Other years, they get a couple cases and there are limits. I can always get a couple bottles at the very least but prefer to have an entire case to drink all year.

We still have 2015, 2017, and 2018 regular on the shelves here. Like most here who got a taste of variants last year, I will mainly buy variants now. If we don't get variants this year, then I'll have to take a road-trip on black Friday.

Buy more non infected 15. You won’t regret it. I have traded for these every chance I get. Even traded for infected dates that the owner said were good - he had a whole case, opened one, said it was fine. I trusted him because of his particular reputation as a trader on here. But if they are just sitting there...man, so tempting. 15 is delicious.

Could not agree more. A local store had a couple bottles of the 2015 14.3% version and I could not resist and bought both of them. Still, after all this time, tastes incredible. Can't believe how well they held up. Absolutely delicious and I'll save the other one for a cold winter night. Really puts the 2017 vintage to shame.

Take it for what’s it worth, but looks like the Mon Cheri variant will be the most mass produced of the bunch. The email to distributors I saw had it broken down between Regular, mon Cheri, and Variants - with this particular wholesaler getting the same amount of Mon Cheri as they were of “variants”.

Awesome. That’s one out of the three I was only interested in.

I'm hoping we see more here this year. Last year we only got BCBS and Midnight Orange. The orange didn't appeal to me enough to pay $22 for it (BCBS was $11.) Mon Cheri, I'd think about it.

I am surprised by the people that have indicated that they do not like dark fruit flavors in their stouts, and the number of people that are excited for a stout with cherries, that have to have either a slight sour note and/or dark fruit flavors.

I don't like green pepper flavor in my stouts, but if I'm drinking a green pepper stout it's expected...

There was cherry-tasting BCBS in 2015, better check the dates on the Mon Chéri

Where do you live in Pa? Even if I lived in Pittsburgh, if I liked the variants enough, I'd make the drive to Philly to scratch that itch. It's my undrestanding that everything was available at the brewhouse last year.

Ha funny we didn’t not get literally hundreds of cases of BC in eastern SD but would be nice.

The Sioux Falls area was swimming in regular as compared to past years, seemed like 5-10x. Part of that could be that variants killed sales of regular, making it go further. A couple of years ago, Sioux Falls only got a dozen or so cases. Costco alone got way more than that last year. There are still a few bottles of regular on the shelves in town now. Variants were in quantities higher than regular was in the past.

You do realize there was a second drop of BC regular in May not from the initial batch. And even still we didn’t get hundreds of cases.

2016 was limited due to some infected barrels getting dumped so yes we got less that year everyone did.

Costco has had BC last two years and even then only like 5-8 cases max.

And some of us like the regular we don’t just chase the super rare variants.

Yes, I know about the second drop last year, and 2016 being way off. I saw the large pile at Costco last year, more than 5-8 cases, and saw one guy walk out with 3 cases after they lifted the limit on Saturday afternoon. Your loss on the variants since they weren't super rare.

So why stand in line for this particular beer when I can buy marginally better ba stouts without all the shenanigans?

I can go pick up ‘18 BCBS and ‘18 Midnight Orange right now in midtown Houston. The other variants sold out on or right after BF
