I think they have it for their anniversary party still and it lasts a bit after in their tasting room. Don't know why they don't make it more often.

So it looks like Nelson Showers is back. With all the Alpine hoopla, I’m kind of curious to see how it tastes.

I could t help myself and I went for a pour of Nelson Showers - guys, DO NOT get this beer. Alpine Nelson isn’t great, but it’s serviceable. This beer just flat out sucks now.

So what do you (referencing the beer dork drinking public here) think changed? Recipe, acumen, the lack of Evan, the lack of Vito, some unfortunate addition to the grain bill like monkey snot? Que?

Lack of effort in trying to make a good beer.

If only Robert Stack was still around, we'd actually get some answers to these Unsolved Mysteries of Noble.

I was hoping was gonna report that the expansion finally came to fruition. With extra rest rooms.

Every time I see a new post about Noble I assume it is that they are closing or they were bought out.

I've said this before, but I will say it again: I bet Noble is doing better than many of the trendy breweries in Orange County. BA ratings and hype are all well and good, but being filled to the brim every Angels/Ducks game is probably better than that for paying the bills.

Maybe. Doubt it though. When you’re making average beer in a high rent, high tax area, that’s not exactly a recipe for doing well. Maybe they’ve found some people with palates bad enough to like their latest beers but losing your smart craft customer who have all now realized you’re slinging subpar beer is unlikely to produce strong economics long term.

You could be right, I have zero insight. It just seems like they wasted money on this expansion and their beer isn’t very good which is a recipe for disaster. Lots of bad breweries make good money.

Glutton for punishment, guys. Saw Naughty Sauce was on tap at Haven and had to give it a go. It’s definitely not bad, but it’s not as rich and robust as it once was. Prob switched the coffee from Portola to the stuff they use at 7/11:

We should combine the Alpine thread with Nobles and call it Lost in Transition. Or combine the Nobles with Alpine and call it Nobody Wants Some.

There are three main time periods for Noble:

BE: Before Evan aka the Dark Years
AE: Age of Evan aka the Enlightenment
DE: Departure of Evan aka the Great Darkness
