Emperor, can't say enough good things about the Polish beer scene. Regular visitor there from Bristol. Been out on the local beers largely for Tryanuary :

Lost and Grounded Check Ignition, Take me to the Top, Long Story Short Table, Saison D'Avon.
Moor Fusion 2018, Smoke and Bones (collab with above), Batallas, B Moor.
Arbor Tiny the Welder (high 5's to Russian River), Saison des Fetes.
LHG Sunrise City Grid, Never Leaving, How to Rejoice.

Combine all these together and you have a great range. Throw in the 9 beers from Yonder @ the Small Bar presently and you have the full deck :stuck_out_tongue:

Been quite busy beer wise with Tryanuary

so dialling it back to new year which was rang in with Burton Barrel Aged Barley wine brewed by Heritage brewery Beer Nouveau in conjunction with historic reborn Truman's
& the night ending with pudding beer dessert in a can chocolate marshmallow from Amundsen

Then the tenth of Jan was Manchester Tryanuary day & head of Beer Nouveau Steve was none to happy that his brewtap had been left of the official crawl, so I headed there to provide an alternative night, quite fitting since Manchester gave the world The Buzzcocks, Joy Division & the Chameleons. There I tested some of the beers for an event the next day & had Lost & Grounded Pils.

The next day I was there for 'The Evolution of Ale' where BN brewed beers to historic recipes
staring with an ancient Egyptian celebration ale made from a three thousand year old Sumerian poem that was flavoured with grapes, figs and dates rather than hops making it very fruity.
On to Georgian porter which it's brown malt gave quite a sourish vinegar flavour. Stock ales, the original mild (fresh ale), India Porter (officers) India Pale Ale (troops), an actual recreation of the historic three threads, 120/, lager and the original west Coast IPAs that mimicked bitter Bitter.

Last week saw the Grub Winter festival & being a Tryanuary volunteer meant I got a free ticket, however it didn't include anything else than getting through the door and as they were taking card only payments & I had only cash didn't get a drink there. So I took photos & tweeted them periodically so it had coverage for a while on the hash tag.

Luckily also Solar wind appear in Tesco locale for the first time so tried that with Orkney's Raven, Tiny rebel pump up the jam & Hop Stuff DDH Pale.

Tomorrow is my birthday so yesterday took advantage of a lot of folk being at the Manchester Beer & Cider Festival & met up with a couple of old, odd friends in the Smithfield Market tavern & we actually managed to get a decent table. Fab Blackjack beers that went so well with Stockport indie butcher sausage roll. Kirkstall's Frambroise was a first lambic on cask and had so much raspberry. Great to have Thornbridge other than their (bright?) bottles that dull the flavour & their Monyash tasted like smoked sweetcure bacon.

Two weeks off work so might have some more fermented tales to tell.

I'm clicking like to acknowledge not that I like it being dead here

We have had a lot of our big personalities leave & some newbies that seemed like they would be great but just didn't stick with us.

I tell you what I'll be back on Sunday with a brief write up of
Öl Nano Brewery & Bar & what I'll be celebrating the end of my working week with ale wise.

Try & keep a minimum pulse on here & hope perhaps some will return or we get some new blood

Forums as a whole are dieing off a bit.

I've not really been drinking much that's interesting as well. Still check in every so often though

Had a nice recent trip to Seville and have put a review on here. Solid beer scene sprouting there. In terms of beers haven't posted much lately but now have to move house so going through the cellar :

Arbor Massive Azacc, Tiny the Welder, Basta Rosse
Hair of the Dog/De Molen Binkie Claws BA Almond
    Founders CBS, Breakfast Stout
    Fyne/De Molen Mills and Hills
Lost and Grounded/Burnt Mill Big Thaw

Complemented these with lots of cans of Vocation Life and Death, my go to hoppy beer, 8 cans £9 @ Tesco's. This is now my standard to judge IPA's and not many touching it. As local breweries go liking Arbor's move to pint cans, although DIPA's in these for me are a challenge.

Last nights home bottle & can session

660ml bottle of Good Living’s Binary Botanical that was brewed to
    Compete with wine.

This doesn’t even compete with beer.

Tastes like a posh lager & lime but it doesn’t even have the body of that & thanks to Ocado being sold out of 330ml bottles I had to suffer through 660ml of it.

Buxton’s Sonita, bought from the local Bargain Booze as they have a craft section, very juicy.

Little Valley’s Python IPA & Tod’s Blonde, showed up at the Localshop corner/convenience shop down the road, both pretty decent.

Wooha’s IPA, part IPA part scotch ale, all good.

Elusive’s Artist Formerly Known as Imperial Brown Stout, a carry out from their tap takeover of Beer Nouveau. Guest brewer at the back, resident in the front bar, Nintendo 64s in between, fantastic event & wonderful beer.

2019- 164 days in 223 different beers tried in that time.

In case there are any UK based beer drinkers still wanting to hear & talk about beer & related antics, well I’ve been trying to spend as much time in the Beer Nouveau Tap to learn about beer craft, home brew Expo there on Sunday.

Always something new brewed there & inspired me to brew myself, first a porter & have just bottled a hazy IPA.

Kept in touch with Zimbo on FB & he’s been sending me aged Russian Imperial Stout, Barley Wine & Scotch Ale as his cellar is overflowing

Greater Manchester is also great with beer at the mo

I've been homebrewing a bit again too, done a rhubarb saison with rhubarb from my allotment and hops from there too. Also an old school west coast IPA loaded with centennial, half homegrown. And now a hefeweizen, which is the best beer I've done in ages, also homegrown hops.

Not drunk too much commercial stuff that's exciting, mainly supermarket beers. Seeing more of the cans with packaged on dates which is nice and long overdue.

    Sorry but people before principles

In spoons had their cask collabs Yazoo and temperance IPAs, Phoenix’s Sticky Wicket, Black Bee & Wobbly Bob. Snuck off whilst pudding was being ate for thirds of Kirkstall Music & Silence & Northern Ireland’s Boundary Push + Pull.
Noticed Chorlton Tap was opposite the tram stop so had Donkeystone Vanilla Porter & Wander Beyond Colossal Creek.
Back home thought good time for burying crap beer so Brains Point Break & Robbos One Eyed Jack
Family wanted to watch film so washed down popcorn with M&S/Oakham Cambridgeshire Golden Ale
Snuck back to Chorlton Tap this Arvo for hair of the dog and a carry out

I don't mean to be a debbie downer, but you guys realize that shipping a 10kg package internationally is gonna cost around 45 quid to the USA and 70 dollars to Europe, right? It doesn't really get much cheaper below 10kg as well. If you know a cheaper option, please let me know.

A whilst back on Facebook I found a Pixies fan who wanted an Orbit beer that had the Monkey from the Doolittle album cover, think two 330ml bottles cost about £8-£12 it’s doubling the cost of the beer, it all depends how much you want it & I would be willing to pay that for some local beer or something I couldn’t get here.
