Agreed with both, so let me rephrase my comment better.

How many stouts/barleywines/whatever that were aged 20 months (or some extended aging period) has anyone had and their comment was "this is way overcarbed"? On the flip-side, how many has anyone had and their comment was "this seems undercarbed"?

From my personal experience for something aged that long, I've said the latter a few times and never the former. So while it isn't written anywhere about the style and carb level, it seems somewhat common...hence my statement. Again, talking about the style, not the process.

Maybe others have had different experiences, so it isn't a fact, just an observation based on my history with BA beers.

Yes, I realize there's a middle ground of being perfectly carbed and this is all subjective and I'm likely just pissing into the wind, haha. But it's a message board and we all have our opinions.

I went for lunch to pick up my Roaming Elephants today. They didn't have too much strange stuff on their menu, but they do make changes from time to time. They had a bison sausage that I haven't seen before. The samosas are still there, and those are delicious (although they don't look very pretty).

BTW, the Arketype: Coco Flux is awesome. Every Arketype variant I've tried has been really good, but this one blows away most non-BA stouts. They could make a lot of money canning that stuff.

SO! I had some More beers for the first time in a long time.

Roaming Elephant: I think Shaun brewed this, so it's biggest problem was surprising to me...the mouthfeel was thin. The flavors were spot on (caramel, toffee, oak, hints of chocolate) but overall it wasn't quite elite. It's better than 2016 & beyond Bourbon County Barleywine, but worse than 2014 & earlier Bourbon County Barleywine.

The Frooted Mango was way too vanilla forward; I felt like someone dumped vanilla extract into a shot glass of Mango juice. Not good.

Hophorescent was a pleasant surpise; a smooth, creamy DIPA with nice lemon, grass & cane sugar notes. I haven't had many, overall, but this was the best hoppy beer I'd had from them.

As always, just one idiot's opinion!!

I know they hype with More has died of fa bit since Shaun left, but I'm a little surprised no one posted about the Orange Cream Marbles release earlier today.

Anyone make it out and try it?

Curious how it compares to Blazed Orange.

I wouldn't tie hype to BA forum posting as much these days, it seems like people are just posting less on here about specific releases in general. Anyways, they sold out in less than 2 hours, so I think they're doing ok.

Touche; although when a brewery/ beer release has more "hype" around it, there tends to be much more posting on it.

That being said, I hear ya about people posting less regardless...was just curious what peoples thoughts were on this one. In my experience, their "Marbles' series" has been quite good IIRC.

Yeh it’s really good. The right balance of everything. Creamy but not too thick. Orange and vanilla but in a way that doesn’t override the hops.

    Spot on
This is a really good beer.
3 4 packs per person was a generous offering.

My first thought is that they wanted to be sure this one sold out. I don't remember the last beer release that sold out before 2 (or even the day of).

Glad to hear some people are loving it. Too many people are looking to get their hot take out that it's not that good and don't even bother seeing if they really like it.

Most of their hoppy beers that are first time releases sell out the day of. Ticks.

I'd still say that Blazed Orange is best creamsicle milkshake IPA I've had, and I don't think it's close at all.

Marbles smelled fantastic, but it was crazy sweet with no hop presence, and left me underwhelmed after getting the nose of it. It wasn't a bad offering by any means, but I don't think it comes close to competing against Blazed Orange, yet...

I agree. I definitely enjoyed it but it's not the level of BO.

I think similar to their last mango frooted marbles, there is just so much vanilla that I can't get anything else. I taste orange right off the bat but it quickly fades into a vanilla bomb.

I don't track the More releases like I used to, but did they really do a Mango Frooted Marbles...like a combo of the Frooted and Marbles series?

They did one back in April called Frooted Marbles. It looked like a Frooted but tasted more like a milkshake IPA. It was red though (can’t remember the fruit)

Went to MoRE last night, and here were plenty of DDH Dusty and DDH Double Space Boots cans to-go. It was nice to be able to grab a 4-pack of each due to the lack of 'tick'/FOMO crowd presence. I think those two beers are among their best offerings in PA/IPA/DIPA category.
