I expected gyros to be bigger when I visited Greece (not that they weren’t readily available at walk up lunch/street meat places). I learned the kebab w/pitas were far more common at restaurants as well as being delicious.

No, but they’re doing a tap takeover next Thursday’s at Fuel (new bar/restaurant a block from MoRE), which i find entertaining.

How pissed must he have been that the brewery name Spiteful was already taken?

Too bad he probably had their new name before the messy breakup. Otherwise this might be the Mas Brewing or Even mOre Brewing thread

I'm surprised he didn't go with, "Very very very very honest brewery"

    "A MoRe honest brewery"

I saw somebody post that he bought the Oktoberfest from Binny's at $16.99!? I haven't sought it out, so I haven't seen how it's priced, but that seems crazy high for the style

Binny's pricing isn't usually inflated. I'll be passing at that price unless I find a single can in a mixer.

FWIW I thought the one Shaun brewed at MoRE last year was very good.

Agreed. I found it suuuuper sweet in an artificial way; it's as if someone dumped Splenda or Sweet N' Low into an IPA.

    Strawberry Beer report - 9/13
    W/ @Bast and @kdawgmoney

We cleansed/wrecked our pallets with an Oak-aged saison (ancient bole) from TRVE to start.

We started with Maplewood shakey, P3 chantilly, and MoRE marbles. Followed it up with Old Nation tart M-43, then NG strawberry rhubarb, and closed with Rev strawberry SJ. I’m too lazy to edit, so...

    Maplewood - shakey

    Poured much pinker (grapefruit-esque color)

Handful of pink pez grounded up. Oversweet, chalky; work through layers of lactose until you find strawberry

    Excessive lactose; strawberry lactose

POPROCKS! Sharper (disagreement here; others said phase 3 sharper

Vague anger about Mr Shakey “don’t want to drink more”

More strawberry; less IPA... most artificial?

    Phase 3

Sweet candy nose; strawberry cream hard candy

Similar odor to orange chantilly; lactose forward

    Fuller bodied than shakey

Hard candy dropped in an IPA?

    Marbles (oldest?)

    Vastly different than phase 3
    Best of 3
    Vegetal nose? Honest strawberry
    Brain goes to strawberry banana
    Most full-bodied
    Most enjoyable
    Well-integrated lactose
    Sweetness resolves to slight bitterness
    Most Vanilla

    M43
    Most beer-like
    Meaningful discern hops
    Most carb
    No less strawberry; accents hop
    Thinner

    Best-to-worst of the hops:
    M43; marbles; P3; shakey
    Marbles; m43; P3; shakey

    straw jacket

Pleasant; quaffable; strawberry finishes nicely, comes out as distinct aftertaste. Everyone loved it.

(Capped the night with off color miscellanea 2, HA Loire hut, and alch. focal banger)

All-in-all a great night. Lots of surprises, and better discussion then my quick real-time notes capture.

We did Strawberry Shakey, Strawberry Chantilly, and Strawberry Shoppe. Unanimous vote from all 8 participants Strawberry Shakey was the best, then Chantilly, and Strawberry Shoppe was awful. Wish we had a fresh Strawberry Marbles cuz that probably would have been tops or close with Shakey.
