I took the ferry to Transmitter a few weeks ago. It’s about a 5 minute walk, nothing restricted.

Cool! I'm definitely going to do that. Thanks!

The Singlecut taproom is actually really nice, but yea it's deep and there's nothing else close to it.

Neither Fifth Hammer or Rockaway blow me away, but I vastly prefer Fifth Hammer. Their taproom also gets mobbed on weekends with yuppies from the neighborhood, and there's lots of kids and dogs, but their sours are usually really good, and the IPA are okay with an occasional flash of greatness. I've never had anything from Rockaway that that's really excited me, but I hear they excel at more traditional stuff.

For that same area of LIC you could also give Alewife a shot, but I liked them better when they were just a really good craft beer bar, as opposed to now that almost all their taps are taken up by their own beer, which I've found pretty average. That said they have a great space with good food.

For 5th Hammer, grab a 4 pack to go and walk down 46th Ave, pass Rockaway, and enjoy your cans in front of Pesi-Cola sign while enjoying the view of mid-town skyline on one the fiberglass Adirondack chairs.

I am gonna HIGHLY recommend you skip Rockaway. Dingy, overcrowded taproom and sub-par beer when compared to almost anywhere else in NYC.

Fifth Hammer is real solid, but replace Rockaway with either Alewife or Big Alice. Both cool spots w/ good brews in that exact same area.

Eat at John Brown's for lunch before the burnt ends sell out.
