Unfortunately, on Friday & Saturday our traditional operations are shutdown to make this Street Festival happen outside of our Brewpub. You can go into the Brewpub and hang out, and it's usually not too bad crowd wise, but the menu is limited for the event with walk-up service for food. We have to cease can sales during the festival for reasons that you can probably guess. Reverrant is available, so if you have anyone who can pick it up for you Thursday or today, that would be best. It's also made its way out to a bunch of retailers too, I'm just not positive on its availability. Glad you dug the beer and sorry that the timing is not great for what you were hoping to do.

Is the Brewery on Kedzie open over the weekend?

Hey Craig. Yes I’m planning to fly in just for 4+ hours. But didn’t realize the big street party was going on till I checked here. I was hoping to do lunch at the brewpub and pick up Reverrant cans and others. You know how I fly Craig. So you think BT will have Reverrant cans? Maybe I’ll call the day before and ask. I don’t think I’ll have enough time to go to Half Acre for lunch. I was craving for the brewpubs Jerk Lamb. Or do you think they will still have plenty of cans if I go the following Saturday (10-5)?

The Brewery is closed Saturday (likely to staff the Festival), so you can unfortunately strike the Brewery references from my post.

Another alternative is to hit the Brewery, which is a few blocks away from the Belmont El Stop (2 Blocks East 1+ block north). Reverrant is listed as currently available to go at both locations, you can recheck Saturday.

Revolution Brewpub if you're able to hit that does as well (the Brewery has popcorn only, you can bring food to eat there).

Monthly reminder that the best combo for food at the taproom is secretly White Caste + Little Caesars.

Sounds like you must fly as much as I do to take on a day trip like that. Assuming you can get the cans you’re looking for elsewhere (beer temple seems like the most viable option), I’d recommend hitting up the fest while you’re here, rather than avoiding it. Weather doesn’t look great Saturday though.

If you’re planning on using the El, be aware that starting Friday there could be some track closures requiring you to take a shuttle bus at Rosemont - allow for extra time. https://www.transitchicago.com/travel-information/alert-detail/?AlertId=62724

Is @Veliksta1 tied with Revolution? That’s why I quoted him on my initial post here. It says he’s in the industry. So I’ve been to Kuma’s before and yes dig their burgers, beer and music. Also been to Beer Temple. I know they carry fresh cans and great selections. My first time visiting BT I met one of the workers there who was into the Bruery and Monkish stuff. I believe he works over at Mikerphone now. I’ve seen him there the last 3 or 4 visits. I’m all taco’d out right now. We were in Santa Fe, NM this past weekend and stuffed ourselves with tacos and New Mexican dishes. I was hoping to sit down and enjoy the food at Revolution. But it sounds like it’s going to be a shitshow. If I don’t go to Revolution this Saturday then I was planning to fly to Reno instead and hit up Revision and bringing some of their stuff back home. Either way it’s a win win.

I’m just now reading this. And looks like my plans have changed. Will you guys have Reverrant cans still available the following Saturday? My main reasoning for this trip was for the Reverrant cans to bring back to LA. Yes, I’m crazy. But my brother in law and I loved it on tap a couple of weekends ago. I could postpone my visit till Sunday or the following Saturday (10-5).

Thx for the L update. That can and will make a difference in my plans. I have 3 flights to catch to make it back to LAX. Otherwise I’d have to spend a night in Chicago. Not trying to avoid spending a night. Just trying to keep my $ cost down. Yes I/we fly a lot. This past weekend we were in Santa Fe, NM for 2 concerts. Beers was meh. Food was excellent. 3 weeks ago we were in Chicago. I know. Why didn’t I bring Reverrant cans then? I wasn’t planning to bring cans back then as we were hosting my wife’s sister and her husband in Chicago. So that’s why I want to go back for Rev cans and others.

Yes, he is the man to know at Revolution. I forgot to check their closure dates before my original post, they do close at times for private events or to staff big events at the brewpub.

My brother basically lives in Reno in the Fall for his job (he lives in Vegas the rest of the year) and loves Revision. I've had quite a few of their offerings, NEIPA West Coast and others. Lead dog is also worth hitting in the area. Also love going to Tenaya Creek, Lovelady and HopNuts in Vegas.

Was fortunate to get out West for work last August and hit AleSmith, Bottle Logic, Modern Times, Bruery and Monkish. Many more I couldn't hit due to time constraints but hope to in the future.

Hope your trip works out next week and you can score Reverrant and other great cans on your return trip! I had Reverrant last week and liked it, Revolution and Half Acre has the broadest range of great pours in Chicago over many styles. AleSmith and Modern Times are great as well.

Le Jus from Alarmist Brewing won the GABF Gold last year for NEIPA, worth grabbing if you haven't already.

Thank you for this thread. Tonight I’m going to show this to my wife and tell her she has married the lower end of the will-do-anything-for-beer spectrum.

Ha Ha, I've seen a Little Caesars pizza at old Detroit Joe Lewis stadium (never had one). I can't understand how any national chain pizza joint exists within Chicago city limits. White Castle I can somewhat understand, especially among 4 AM options. I've had it a couple times this year.

La Villa (Pulaski and Patterson) is my top carry-in option near the Brewery. Sad Hero's is closed.

Let me put it this way: I can walk into Little Caesars, grab a pizza and be on the way to White Castle (last stop before Rev) in about the time it would take you to dial La Villa. And it's $5, which is pretty important when I'm also buying $25 worth of food from WC.

First you spell it Joe Lewis, and then you dump on Little Caesar's???

Little Caesar's is delicious, and that crazy bread is awesome. My kids have grown up in Chicago (unlike me) and have had plenty of local deep dish and thin crust, but they love some Little Caesar's. We get a hot & ready and an order of crazy bread with sauce for around $8 and that feeds us for a meal...as opposed to $20+ for a large pizza at one of our local Chicago pizza places. I love Lou's, Art of Pizza, etc., but sometimes Little Caesar's just hits the spot.

I shudder to think of all the artificial ingredients and chemicals they use to get you all that at an $8 price point.
