This place is called Fiden's (not sure where I got Pinder's) and they're opening Saturday the 28th.

New spot called Wild East Brewing slated to open in a couple months. It's in Brooklyn like right by Threes and Strong Rope.

Between them, Sixpoint, Finback, and Collective Arts, that area of BK is gonna be crazy.

Had no idea SP, FB or CA were opening places in that area. SHEESH. You add OH and Folksbier and that's like eight breweries in a two-mile or so radius.

That sounds ambitious as hell. Would definitely be excited to check it out, though, you could make a nice little day of that, Plan Bee, King's Court and then Lolita's for pizza.

Ashton Brewing looks to be taking over the old Demented spot. Anyone know anything about the new venture?

    Couple small updates:

    1) Place called Heelpath opening in Frankfort, outside of Utica. Looks like a pretty run-of-the-mill spot (don't mean that to be insulting) but it'll be right off the Thruway which is nice.

    2) Foreign Objects' taproom in Monroe is likely opening in the next month or two.

    3) New place called Square Knot opening up in Canandiagua. Gonna be in the old train depot off Main St, right where Peacemaker used to be. Peacemaker bought a new spot in Canandaigua and will be building the taproom there.

    4) Been open since earlier this year but was off my radar: Garvies Point Brewery in Long Island not too far from Oyster Bay.

Clemson Brothers, in addition to buying the Gilded Otter in New Paltz, is planning to open a massive new facility in Pine Island next summer. I just gotta ask... why? I truly cannot fathom there being a market for CB to have two locations, let alone three. I travel all throughout NY and I spend a good amount of time in the HV -- I have never seen CB on tap at any beer bars or heard anyone talk about or recommend them.

And maybe their beer is good. But this strikes me very much as a nobody-was-asking-for-this move (See: Empire Brewing expansion in Cazenovia) that is going to saddle them with ridiculous debt and result in all three spots being closed.

I don't wish that on them but three locations is a lot for anyone, let alone a brewery nobody talks about.

I didn’t know where else to put this but I had never heard of these guys until recently and a friend of mine brought back Double Obsession....it was delicious. Right there with any other good stuff I’ve been drinking. Gotta check this place out.

Obercreek is quietly making some of the best beer in NY and I urge anyone to check them out.

    - Whitman Brewing in Saratoga slated to open by EOY. Went by the place last week and there is still a LOT of construction to do on the inside so I wouldn't be surprised if that gets pushed back. I base this on my complete and total absence of knowledge on construction timelines.

    - Lionheart in Albany should have their own house beers on any day now. Ribbon-cutting for the upstairs bar/brewpub is this weekend.
