Two excellent drinks tonight; currently...

This is my favorite take on a brown ale - ever...

And, earlier (and later, too... lol)...

One of my favorite aspects of Widow Jane's bourbon is the influence of what I presume to be the "limestone mineral water"

Today, in Total Wine, I was looking at this rye and an American oak version... I had to be standing there for like 3 minutes staring at them...

Anyway, this is an excellent rye whiskey - and so clean tasting - again, I'm gonna attribute it to the limewater thing - stupidly easy to drink, with zero harsh elements - for me, hits marks for a balance between sweet and dry (I like it a little more dry than sweet), sharp and smooth (I like it smooth, but love heat done right) - plus, notes of spicy apple juice and grassy tobacco, with gentle suggestions of juicier fruits...

Having both the Founders and the rye tonight? Fucking awesome...

Sorry, got to respectfully disagree with you here. I probably have the best attendance record of anyone in my group at work, but occasionally I just have to take a mental health day, albeit rarely. My job is pretty stressful and at times you just need a single day break to get your head straight again. In the end, I think you actually end up being more productive and produce higher quality work.

 

I'd be lying if I said I didn't hit Fox Farm last weekend solely for this one (whatever came with it would be a bonus)...Tines, their take on a märzen; they do a great job with their lagers, and this is no exception. Cheers!

 

Are you “cleaning out” Oktoberfests during Oktoberfest? Are you part of the reason they become available in July?

Right off the bat, smells like KBS, blasphemous, i know. Wow. Great stout. Chocolate, licorice, coffee, strong barrel still. Really smooth. Guy at the store only charged $6 for 3 bottles, year and a half old too. What a bargain.

 

This beer brings back memories of the Summer of 2016 when I would crack open a Focal Banger every night after work. I'll be doing the same with this Stowe offering as well (as long at it lasts!)
