16 HF beers still on tap at Churchkey. Fuck my wallet.

I was luxuriating in it last night.

I was surprised to see so much OH stuff still on tap. When Hill is on tap, everything else takes a back seat though.

If you aren't grabbing DDH All Citra Everything from DTC, then you are living life wrong.

I mean, I love the Other Half, but driving 40 minutes out of the way to get beer seems like "living my life wrong." But we all value different things with our beer purchases.

It's also weird to me that there are Other Half beers that have been languishing on tap at Churchkey for a couple of weeks now.

I work right near DTC, so I'm fortunate I don't have to drive 40 min out of my way.

FWIW - a lot of us were driving 40 min for beer when Aslin was only in Herndon.

I think the point is that regularly driving 40 minutes out of the way for beer, period, doesn't necessarily fit into what I'd consider living my life right. Kinda like how the idea of regularly driving to Tree House for people in MA and then waiting in long lines on top of that drive boggles my mind (and Tree House is delicious). The opportunity cost is so ridiculously high when there is no shortage of great beer.

But yeah, if you're near DTC, and like haze, seems silly not to go there.

Assuming it happens, looking forward to the OH facility in DC proper.

Is Red Bear Brewing worth a visit? Untapped reviews look average.

Have any additional info in new OH establishment in DC?

My initial response was gonna be "no" which was why I said "assuming it happens" since I haven't heard/seen any news in months, but per this:

looks like it's still on and a priority.

CBC posted they got Outer Range cans, which is baffling to me. I thought it was a small setup in the Rockies. Anyone know if they're contract brewed or what is going on with that?

Don't know but I stopped by their taproom while on vacation in August and their beers weren't that great. Far below other half, veil, and aslin. Wasn't really blown away by weldwerks either. So that I don't sound like a total downer, Casey and bierstadt lagerhaus were both awesome.

    Anyway,not too excited about OR.

Feels like they just sent some cans out as part of their attendance at the Aslin Anniversary and/or just beer week in general.

There was also a can release at The Bruery a week or two ago.

Dominion also got cans, as well as a lot of other out of market beers a week or two ago. Definitely due to the Aslin anniversary.

Both of the haze cans that Outer Range brought out are really good - Steez in particular and Blocks of Light. They are a bit lighter and more carb'd than many NEIPAs and certainly when compared to the Aslin/Veils of the world.

Yes, they are a small spot about an hour west of Denver. No idea why they came out here.

Made it to DTC and back in 35min from Bethesda this morning (perks of a slow work day) and still a surprising amount of DDH All Citra Everything. They had All Green (lowest stock), DDH Citra Daydream IPA, triple space diamonds, Oh..., and that west coast IPA all with pretty decent stock as of 10:30am.

Honestly loving the OH stuff. On top of the general greatness the oat cream is way easier on my stomach than the straight-lactose ones you see from most other breweris.

It's quite meh. too hipster'y for me, and the beers were just ok.

RE: OuterRange - they did a few collabs with commonwealth recently that got distrbituted to DC so maybe that's the impetus for the new distro. Having said that, the collabs were alright but they were priced at like $24 and i'd rather get $18-22 OH cans or $19 growlers of singlecut/burley oak/rar from Glenn's 10/10 days.

Talked to one of the OH guys at CBC and he said the facility will be ready for inspection in December. But then is the final sign-off from DC...so probably next summer
