Sly Fox's is my favorite, working on my second six pack already. Victory's is decent if you approach it as being a little different, has a chocolate/roasty thing that I enjoy but it's not traditional. Stoudts is decent but not one of my favorites. I actually like Sam Adams for what it is too and there's something really tasty about it that works well with my palate.

    Fall beers are my favorite!

I was sort of turned off by sly fox’s last year. Had a very metallic taste to it. Maybe I was just super sensitive to the taste for some reason. Do you pick up on anything like that while drinking?

I actually do but I find that taste in a few Lagers, particularly darker ones, and it doesn't bother me. But if you are sensitive to it I would say this year's won't be for you either.

Having my first can from Jersey Girl Brewing in Hackettstown and it's really good. Nicely balanced bready malt and spicy/herbal hops, finishes clean and dry. Could drink quite a few of these in one sitting. Price was right too, $8.79 for the 4-pack of pint cans.

I had this last year and really enjoyed it. Very solid interpretation. I knew it was fresh because it had just dropped at the store, not because of their stupid date (or non-date) stamping.

Had Victory's for the first time in a few years and thought delicious.

Yeah the code on the bottom of the Jersey Girl cans is odd. If you can put a code on the bottom, why not just make it the canning date? Like you said, I know the store I was at got a fresh drop of a few cases so it wasn't an issue, but still.

I'm not a fan of Victory's. It's really heavy with a weird coffee/roasted malt thing going on. Makes it tough to have more than one in a sitting.
