Yeah that Grey Skies NN was better than Vanilla BCBS if you ask me. You make a good point about the rye barrels hopefully cutting the sweetness

 

Fair points, and I do agree it was a smart move to use rye barrels for Junie for those purposes.

I thoroughly agree with this. Grey Skies NN stomped all over some hyped Bottle Logic beers for me and some people at a tasting last year.

 

Anyone up there for the members party?

I swung through at open. Busy. Beers were great, especially liked Kamigoye and Neckbeard Life.

 

Great time at the members party. Glad they had a lot more food this time compared to last years pizza which was gone in a minute. Neckbeards are solid as well as that parker rye BW. Tasted like A&W cream soda.

 

Only stayed a few hours, but I agree it was a fun time. The mead was one of the highlights of the day for me. For them being "test runs," I was really impressed, with the blueberry/vanilla one being my favorite. Neckbeards were all very good too. Also, there was a guy there with a rooster...so there's that going on nowadays.

 

F--- with vanilla is really, really good. I put it on par with FO

 

I agree. Drank a F--- with vanilla two nights ago and it was excellent.

 

How does it compare to Vanilla Kamigoye?

 

This is a good question, because Vanilla Kamigoye was so fire!

 

I've heard VK is super sweet, so I haven't domed mine.

 

I think it all melds together perfectly. I've domed 3 at this point, I believe.

 

Haven't drank mine yet, but I'll let you know

 

VK was a touch too sweet for my liking right off the bat, but hopefully a little time mellows that out a bit.

 

Had the new Get My Things DIPA (very good - piney, grainy, dank, juicy) and Don't Hide Your Magic tangerine milkshake IPA (didn't like - weird mix of tangerine juice, too thin/watery, not my style).

 

I love me a pastry stout or 12 but I actually preferred regular Kamigoye to Vanilla because it was just too much of a sugary mess for me....PS I had it on draft so maybe bottles are different

 

Also just had Dream Forever, the latest DDH IPA. Very solid, enjoyed it.

 

Agreed. Dream Forever and Get My Things were both very solid when I had them at the member party. I was so overwhelmed with all the stouts on tap and bottles I left with, I forgot to grab any cans to go. I suck at beer.

 

My FOMO is getting the best of me...for the 2019 members, what were the bottles this past year? I was a member for several years & didn't renew in 2019. Were there many/any saisons/wilds or was it mainly focused on the stouts?
