It is awesome, but let's not pretend AB just decided to get generous. This is probably coming out of their corporate giving budget. This money was going to get spent somewhere on charity work for the appropriate tax deductions regardless of this.

 

Their hypocrisy and posturing can't hold a candle to the media's.

Plus at the absolute least they were good for something in this train wreck.

 

Except they initially said they’d match dollar for dollar what Mr. King raised. I believe it’s at/near $2,000,000. I’m guessing they never expected him to raise this much. They get out of a massive donation by using the kid as a scapegoat. Shame on them.

Unless it's changed, I think AB-Inbev is still doing the $$$ matching. They just pulled the t-shirts and special cans and stuff like that. And the $2MM was including their and Venmo's matchings. Though i haven't seen the number lately.

 

3 morals to this story:
1.) Never EVER EVER EVER go viral, because you will be hunted down.
2.) Delete all old tweets every few months
3.) Posting racist homophobic bullshit is just a terrible thing to do, regardless of intent. Be smarter than that, and if you have those viewpoints in 2019 you are the problem.
