I'm wondering if everyone will still get an email who entered the lottery once all tickets are officially claimed. Maybe they are not all claimed yet.

You know what would be great? Tickets go on sale, getting one in your cart is essentially a lottery, sale ends in a minute, no need to wait for emails. No people entering just to see what happens.

Fact is, if everyone here got a ticket, they wouldn’t be complaining. I’ve tried every year for one and this is the first time I’ve had any success and I certainly didn’t care what time the email came vs when they said it would come lol. They’re never going to make everyone happy regardless of whether they mess up little details or not.

Quit complaining and move on to the next release like the rest of us.

You sound a little bitter yourself. Didn’t see a ton of complaining really most of the complaining was people twitter and the insta. Either way what you said is what is said after every time after one of their releases. Also I think the annoyance is by the fact that they sent out multiple details on the time when things would be sent out and what would be sent out. TG usually does better with their details and this one was a train wreck for them and if you think it’s not then you truly have never entered a TG lottery/ticketed event before.

Either way feel like your point of coming was to say I got in and y’all didn’t stop whining. Congrats dude it’s a world class beer and hope you enjoy your time in decorah, if you’ve never been there before feel free to ask and I and I’m sure others will be more than happy to tell you about decorah and what to do. I may still head down just to have it when they put it on tap or not as I’ve had it multiple times before.

My point was that I have not won many more times I have with these things and no one is entitled to anything and to let little details about timings of emails bother some as much as it seems to is really dumb. It’s okay to lose graciously. I know what it feels like to strike out with this stuff and we should all consider ourselves lucky TG even lets out of towners have a chance at these releases.

The one detail TG did get correct is when you could enter and how long that window was open. I feel that is by far the most important of any of them and the only one that really matters. No TG ticketed release has ever been perfect and people are always going to find a reason to complain. I just feel lucky to even have a chance as I never did with the fastest one to checkout option.

It's a half mile northwest of Pulpit Rock and the campus is 175 acres. It's kind of the main reason that town even still exists. Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds recorded a legendary album there.

Only being open for 3 hours a day made it difficult to make it in there. Maybe i can do it on sunday before we leave town after kbbs

So how are people like MDb6 compared to MDb5?

Haven’t opened a bottle up yet. Had it at the tap room a few times now and felt like MD5 was better on tap and out of the bottle. Felt bottle MD5 was much more maple forward and I tend to be more of a fan of sweet stouts. But I felt tap MD5 was slight coffee which turned more maple when warmed up. Feel like this year is very heavy bitter coffee all they way through. But sometimes tap and bottle can be different

I have been spreading the love, all of my bottles(5) have, or will be sent as BIF's and to close trading partners.

I did have it out of the bottle since MD Day and very much enjoyed. I do agree it is a touch more coffee forward than last year, but very well balanced!

The bottles I shared with local HB group were not as well received as last years. Agree with most of what said that MD is a little to coffee forward this year. That doesn't bode well with me for KBBS.

Wouldn’t this years KBBS be based on last years MD?

To my knowledge, KBBS is now a blend of two year MD's. Barrels that were not ready last year after the 5-6 month mark will be left to age till next release and then blended with the current years fresh stock and so on and so forth.

I haven't had it, but I'm pretty sure last year's was better. Which was, of course, not as good as the year prior.

Nothing is ever as good as it used to be, but two years ago they had the 12 ounce bottles, and I did not think those were very good.
