I opened my bottle of Tangram last night, and it's drinking so perfectly right now. It had a great unripe honeydew flavor. After drinking another beer that was over 10% this was so much more refreshing and enjoyable to drink.

Drove the hour to Grimm this afternoon. Parked right in front, usually I park on catherine so saved the one minute walk lol. Arrived at 12:30 to a completely chill taproom. Knocked off nine 4oz in short order. Service was great. All the big styles were available.

Draft pours were excellent. Then went and picked up various bottles and cans to go. Walked out with more pils than IPAs. I wish a place like this was out here on the island.

Joe and Lauren, keep it up! Love what you are doing!!!!

How was the Marzen? Couldn’t make the trip this weekend and will be out of town next weekend as well.

I thought it was excellent! Reminded me of last year’s IA autumn landscape, which is prob the best Marzen I’ve ever had. I’m no marzen expert, though.

If the batch size is similar to their other cans, I have no doubt you will still be able to get Festooning in a couple of weeks...and that’s part of the beauty that is Grimm. Great beers in a broad spectrum of styles with no need to wait on line!

Spiritual Consultant on untappd seems to be 7.5%. Was this "abv tamed"? (is that even a thing?)

Gathering sounds delicious...looks like I found a great weekend to finally visit the taproom.

It's a typo -- the beer is still 7.5%. Thanks for bringing that to our attention!

Very excited for Gathering Peaches and Red Currants. We got local ripe fruit and did a carbonic maceration on it before adding any barrels of beer -- and it also went through some serious autofermentation and even got ropey, the first time we've seen that! The beer came out incredible with lots of layers of complex and positive funk. Like the last Gathering this is a 6bbl batch so it won't see much if any distro.

Went yesterday. Such a great space. The lamb quesadillas were amazing.. two orders filled up 3 of us.

The peach/currant Gathering was great but holy moly, Tangram may be the most delicious offering I’ve had from Grimm. Tart, bright and lovely. Wound up snagging two bottles before we left.

Also, stereolab at Brooklyn Steel was awesome. Pre game for shows there will always be at Grimm in the future.

They don't compare to Grimm, but a new brewery called 18th Ward just opened up right across the street from Brooklyn Steel. Granted, a friend of mine has a small stake in it so I'm a bit biased, but all the beers I had there were very solid. For the first batches of a 0 hype brewpub I was pretty pleased.

I was at Grimm before the Stereolab show as well. Agree that it's a great pregame spot. Oktoberfest on cask was a treat and that chicken shawarma sandwich is no joke. I have a big appetite and barely manged to finish it. In hindsight, my buddy and I could have split one instead of each ordering our own.

While Cinnamon takes a backseat to no babka, that does seem like a pretty steep increase in price over Sumi Babka. IIRC it was $26 a 4pk, this is almost double the price per volume plus it was 12% instead of 9%.
