Used to buy Zombie Dust at the brewery by the case and loved it. That was 2015 and prior. Just bought a 6 pack and couldn't finish one bottle. The rest went in the recycle bin.

Did my taste buds (or just taste change)? Used to be 100% Citra hops and now they use Cascade hops with just a bit of Citra for aroma? WTF? Why even call it Zombie Dust anymore?

Just no comparison to what it used to be.....

    It's you.

    You're wrong.

    Your taste buds have changed.

    Had one in Chicago recently.

    Still great.

I stand behind this, it's amazing. Lupulin threshold. It's the same reason the majority of WET beers have been subpar in recent years.

The recipe of the beer has changed from 100% Citra to 95% Cascade and 5% Citra.

The last few times I’ve had dust over the past couple years I thought it was a shell of its former self but figured with all the great citra beers available now it was mostly due to the bar being raised and my taste changing.

This kind of a major recipe change makes more sense now that you bring it up.

Start the countdown to posters saying they don't like Surly Wet this year while also admitting that they don't like Mosaic hops. 3...2...1......

Considering Castle Danger's wet hopped version has used cascade hops in the past, I'm looking forward to comparing the two versions against each other this year.

Mosaic wet is pretty awesome. A big improvement in the last few years.

I thought Castle danger had used Mosaic for their fresh hop for a few years now? It's been my favorite for the past 3-4 years.

WET is awesome this year, but CD edges them out. More body.

Also more expensive for less beer.

Random sighting today while running errands...
Target in St. Louis Park had a number of 2016 Darkness bottles on the shelf for 19 bucks.

Junkyard is making the rounds and dropping off a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout and some milkshake bullshit beer. The stout was $16.99 a crowler.

It lasted about 30 mins at elevated. I'd be surprised if anything was left as JY was posting pretty frequent updates of their drops.

There was more stout than the milkshake left at Top 10 in Chanhassen about a hour ago. No limit.

It's been years since I've had it, but I grabbed a 6 pack off the shelf and thought it was as good as I remember, which was a solid drinkable pale ale. Do you have a source for the hop change? Not that I don't believe you, but it still tastes predominantly like citra to me...
