    I agree, hoppy and bitter are two different things. There’s so many different kind of hops used for different reasons. Same with malt, there’s pleasant malt driven beers say like Ayinger just because it’s in season, it’s a good kinda malt. Then there’s the malty old ipas that are off because the hops fade, that’s a shitty malty beer. I can smell that kind of old malt and I hate it.

    I have only been in Boston once (for four or five days), but I consistently advise people not to drive there. And if you are more than 5'6" and 150 pounds, Fenway will be ergonomically miserable. I am comfortable with this advice.

    Beer-wise, I am tired of Big Beer(tm) buying my favorite breweries and then ruthlessly eviscerating the production quality.

    We have been awaiting this return,
    @Overlord, what is thy bidding?

    Your sage-like advice on Fenway and non-diminuitive stature is accurate in Proletariat seating. You're more likely to wear a beer than consume it in these tight seats.

    Goose Island or Elysian?

    I can't speak to the other brands, but I've surprisingly found GI's quality to have gone up to the level of what's available locally in my market.

    The three terms - "hoppy", "malty" and "yellow" - have been used to describe beer, by the brewers themselves, for quite a while...

    Pretty sure people just say hoppy meaning bitter. Obviously, we all know hops give different flavors to beer, and it doesn't mean the beer will be bitter. But when the ill-informed casual beer drinker says "I don't like hoppy", I've found what they really meant was they don't like bitter beer.

    (Pliny the Elder is also described as "hoppy" on the label for those keeping score at home.)
