    Good morning everyone!

I'm pleased to announce that that Cup A Joe, our coffee creme stout has been bottled and is awaiting distribution!

Cup A Joe is a true Coffee Creme Stout, in that we add powdered milk sugar during the brewing process to give it a slight creaminess throughout. 80lbs of ground espresso and 200lbs of milk sugar was used to brew each batch of beer in Elk Rapids. That's approximately 1.5oz of coffee and 3.2 oz of milk sugar per gallon! This is the fourth year we have bottled it for statewide distribution.

Best drank fresh--don't forget to check the code date!

A brew uniquely different from most coffee stouts, we cram Higher Grounds roasted fair trade espresso beans into every facet of the brewing process. Prominent aromatics of malt, espresso, and cocoa are abundant and create a flavor robust with big malt characters fused with cream and coffee. The perfect morning night capper.

In other Short's news, our winter seasonal, Good Humans (Dry Hopped Double Brown Ale), has also been bottled and has been hitting stores since last week.

AND if you are near Bellaire today, stop by our annual Brewski Bash, where we are celebrating good beer, good music, and good skiing/snowboarding! We will be releasing four brand new stouts on draft! They are as follows:

You're My Boy Blue: Blueberry Milk Stout

Dirty Sturks: Nitrogen Infused Double Chocolate Stout

Ben's Asthma: Imperial Oatmeal Stout or Oatwine®

    Empress Catherine: Imperial Stout

One of my favs from you guys. The cream really does work well with it and smooths it out.

Hey guys, is this a complex, bold stout, or more of a thin and smooth milk stout?

It's like a cup of coffee with the mouthfeel of a medium-to-thick stout.

    It's awesome.

I'll probably get a few six packs and drink them all by Christmas

I feel I should clarify real quick: it has the mouthfeel of a medium-to-thick stout, not double/imperial stout. It's not a super thick beer, just pleasantly so.

Oh no problem, it's just so many "Milk" or "Cream" stouts seem so thin and one dimensional that I'm reluctant to pull the trigger too many times. Sometimes I think that various cream "Stouts" drink more like porters. Hope this tastes more like a stout. What the heck, Short's beers are so reasonably priced that it doesn't hurt to try a few anyway. Thanks for the input!

Unfortunately, I don't foresee that happening anytime soon--at least in 2013. It is on tap at our pub right now, though...

I'll be heading to the pub soon then. It one of the only stouts I've ever really enjoyed.

Do you have a 2013 bottle calender yet?

I need to make friends with someone that lives up there and commutes to SE Michigan! I have wanted to try the Smore's Stout for a very long time!
