SAVAGES (v2) Hints/Hauls

Nope!!

 

Had to get my incorrect guess out of the way....

 

First box has landed, thank @strohme2!!! Three of the beer @superspak sent me yesterday so I’m really excited to try them as both of you felt they were worth sending to me!


Mystery beer

On the pour and I’m thinking a fruited Berliner, leaning towards raspberry. After sipping it I’m not so sure what it is, probably a fruited lactose sour, but I’m getting an unexpected earthiness.

12 oz can poured into a tulip

A- A hazy golden red with a three finger off white head. 4

S- Tart, raspberries, some passion fruit, some strawberries, wheat. 4

T- Tart, lemons rinds, some raspberry and cherry notes, touch of lactose, hint of wheat, earthy finish. 3.75

M- Smooth, light to medium body. 4

O- Pretty tasty and easy to drink, but the earthiness of the finish is throwing me off, almost pine sol like. 4

And now that I that I see it is a honey wheat ale the flavors make a lot more sense

O- Pretty tasty and easy to drink. The honey does have some nice sweetness to it, but also seems to bring a good amount of earthiness. Kind of reminds pine sol, in good way. 4

Really like this box and the fact that @strohme2 completely through me off with the mystery beer, definitely so hard to pin point the honey and definitely couldn’t figure out the lavender, but see it on the can helped the beer come together.

 

The math on the one hint says otherwise, Minnesota does have good wrestling but I was actually talking about a state just south of you.

 

trying my mystery beer from @r0hrschach. Please forgive my terrible review.

A - clear golden brownish color. Foamy white head which disappears quickly.

O - something that I can’t place but I don’t like it.

T - sea salt and the flavor of the odor I didn’t like. Sweaty gym socks maybe? Edit: Lighter fluid. That’s what it smells like.

M - slick and kind of coats my tongue.

Overall - I’m not sure I like this. My initial thought based on the salt is a gose of some sort. I’m sure I’ll be completely wrong and once I place the smell it will make sense. Reveal later.

Here’s a brew I received from @Victory_Sabre1973

tasty pale ale. Fairly old school compared to some of the hazy pales that are common around here.
Nice balance of malt and gain covered by layers of resinous and earthy hops. A hint of fruit sneaks through too.
Dry, crisp and refreshing!

Glad to get a second opinion on Pantown beers. All of them except 1, I'm the only one who has reviewed them.

So anyways, sorry for the delay in posting this and being fairly absent. We'll be in airports all day tomorrow, so I should have plenty of time to catch up!

In all the shuffle, I had actually forgotten that I was keeping an eye out for a possible package from @dprice so while I was tending to some things down stairs I heard the door bell ring and found this sitting on my porch!



Not being a member of Hello Fresh, I obviously knew I had been mistaken in eliminating DeShawn hahaha. As a side note though, damn what an awesome box to ship in!

The first things out of the box were some tasty looking snacks!



I'm gonna hit those soon, me thinks. Probably tonight after dinner!

Next came the beer, and I was pretty shocked to pull out a shitload of Jreams by Burley Oak! I've heard a lot about this series but I've never come across them so I'm pretty damn stoked!!! Not only that, but these things sound incredible.
