A mystery beer. I have no idea who sent the box but my intel sources on the ground have given me the coordinates of the probable perpetrator. I will not disclose his name but his street name is @FFFjunkie .

And now on to the blind review. I have not done such a review before so my comments may come across as rambling.

Based on the color I am ruling out stouts and brown ales. Also does not seem to have a hoppy smell or taste so I am ruling out IPA. I also ruled out sours.

My wife tasted it and we both agree there seems to be a creamy taste almost like it had honey or other sweet additive.

I have to guess it is a lager given that the 6% written on the cover (I realize this could just be another @FFFjunkie ruse) plus I have run out of beer styles I am familiar with.

All in all I would buy this beer.

And the answer is:

Well, this exercise proves I know little about beer even though I drink my fair share of it.

I am inclined not to answer but yes, I am your sorry ass sender. Sent target #1 today. Hopefully will send you next week.

I am at a loss what to send. I think I have sent you a dozen boxes and you may be bored with Veil and Triple Crossing in particlar. There is one popular Richmond brewery I have not sent. I can get crowlers of IPAs and at times, stouts. Or I can fill a box with Budweiser since it is brewed in Williamsburg, VA!

 

It certainly made me think . Something I generally try to avoid.

Mike, those breweries seriously kick ass! I guarantee I will enjoy whatever comes my way (outside of Williamsburg). I also may pay you a visit next August...

Green Miata. An IPA brewed by Veil.

Glad to hear all this. Veil is releasing stuff tomorrow and I will pick up a bunch for both of us. The Answer is also releasing stuff tomorrow. Certain crowlers are available only Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Tuesday is an absolute zoo so I will go on Thursday. If they are offering crowlers of stouts, I will pick up a few unless you are not a stout fan. I also owe target #1 a couple of Answer stouts which I could not get last week.

And not surprising, I plan to go to Triple Crossing for their Friday release. I feel I need to find some other brewery to include. Too many from which to choose but I will get something and call it the mystery beer.

Be glad to bend elbows with you at any of Richmond’s finest. I promise not to behave.
