Saw it this morning Wegmans Montgomeryville, pa. I think it just yesterday. $12.99 a sixer can’t go wrong.

Just got a six pack and am drinking my first. Bottled 10/07 and out of Chicago.

It tastes great but I hesitate to say it’s on par with 2016. If my memory serves me right 2016 had more brightness and pop. This also has just a bit of a peppery finish.

Either way I’m splitting hairs and it’s a great beer and at $12 a six pack it’s a no brainer. Here in MI this is the best bang for your buck for wet hop beers. Better than Founders, North Peak, and Rogues offering. Got two bottles of Shorts Wet Hop IPL to try yet but loving Born Yesterday’s the best so far!!

I also hesitate to say this year’s is on par with 2016, but it’s definitely better than the past two releases.

For those who are saying it’s on par or close to 2016, how’s it look?

2016’s was “New England IPA” turbid. At least some of the batches that year, some were only slightly hazy.

Also, anyone see this in MA?

I had my first bottle of this year's Born Yesterday. It was bottled on 10/7/2019.

The positives of this batch was it has an attractive hop aroma/flavor to it. Having stated that it also has a chalky-astringency to it that I have never perceived in past years batches.

I have confidence in stating that this batch is not at the same level of the 2016 batch (multiple 6-packs) I purchased.

It will be interesting to see how this 6-pack 'evolves' over time. While I happily made multiple purchases of the 2016 version I am presently uncertain whether I will buy another 6-pack of this year's version.

    Cheers!

Alas, in what seems to be a continuing trend, Lagunitas is slowly losing their firm standard of superlative quality at affordable prices. It's still a very good deal, 11.99 a sixer, but this is the least compelling batch so far by a significant margin. Maltier, less crisp, sweeter, less pungent and bright in the nose. Still a very nice beer, but discernibly less strong.

I disagree. I find 2019 the best batch since 2016.

It Smells great, tastes crisp and flavorful- the Mosaic hops really shine through. Fantastic beer. At $10.99 a sixer where I live, buying a case is an easy steal.

But everyone has a different palate. I respect a differing opinion. For me though, who has sampled every batch since 2015, again, I’d put this year at #2 on my list after 2016’s epic batch.

eh, I got great aroma from it. And it was pretty tasty, if still trending sweeter which isn't my preference.
I think we collectively suffer from the increase in ubiquity in this style of IPA compared to when this was a new brew. So in that sense, least compelling is probably a fair moniker, after all what's compelling about a common flavor profile that you can pick up at any corner store? But I thought the beer was good, 2017 was the year that I really didn't think held up, last year I enjoyed, this year I think has a better/more prominent aroma but the taste is more unbalanced in favor of sweetness for my palate.

As we wait for it to hit FL, has it been bottled in both locations, CA & IL, and on what dates? Thanks and Cheers!
