    I am quite new to searching out rare beers, but I’m not big on trading them. I like to enjoy them myself and even more so with friends. If I find a good thing I get just as much excited about having my friends try it.

    Other than the fact that reselling beer is illegal, it’s exactly the same as reselling anything else.

    SARA saying they are going to track down who is selling their beer is like Cantillon saying their going to track down who is selling their beer. People can ask what they want for a bottle and there are people who won't bat an eye when buying it. Everyone goes after the people selling but doesn't say anything about the sites enabling those sales.

    And most people might not realize it's illegal since they can just post it on a secondary site with no issues.

    Ignorance of the law is not a solid defense.

    I realize that no one will really enforce the laws, but that doesn’t make it ok. I’m pretty sure most of these secondary sites you mention make it pretty clear that items are collectibles and not for consumption. One would have to be pretty ignorant to not know their actions were illegal.
