Event Horizon release date?

It really is. I regret that I didn't buy more bottles when it was released; I'm down to just one.

 

I will definately be trying the 7 devils on tap. Although I was hoping for some bottles

 

Im sure the bottle share will be awesome at Duckworths! I hate I can't make it due to attending a funeral service out of town. I'm sure with Curtis in charge it will be a blast! Make sure and check out Brawley's afterwards, just down the block from Duckworths. He will be putting Event Horizon on sale at 1:30pm.

 

How was it? Hated I missed it but just stopped by Brawleys to grab a couple to enjoy during the games tonight...

 

I got a full case at last year's ORF and could have gotten more...ironic since the best of the NC barrel aged beers by a mile.

 

It was a great time. Saw a lot of familiar faces and made some new friends, and of course the beer was great. Thanks to Curtis and Jack for sharing beer (among other non-BAs), and to Duckworth's for hosting.

 

It's great to hear events such as this around NC. I only wish we had some around Greensboro and/or Winston.

 

You got the ORF release on 12/8, right in your back yard.

 

Sounds like something special is coming up for there 25 year anniversary!!

 

Perhaps I should clarify.......

It would be nice for a restaurant/taproom to host an event in the area similar to the one at Duckworths. Bring in some good brews on tap, sell some food, and arrange a bottle share. Yes foothills does this however, we're limited with that only being 3 times a year with only foothills brews. No disrespect to those events, but it would be nice to have other special release events in the area from other breweries.

City beverage did a nice job with EH but that place gets small quick! + there's no food or bottle share. The event that peabodys had earlier in the year is another good example. Even though I could not attend I heard nothing but good things about it.

-You're right. I was way off. There are a handful of brands involved in this years. I don't think there was any makers mark at all. I heard the full list Thursday but I was foggy at the time and don't remember them all.

 

That makes sense. Don't know the area, but the best you can hope for is a local bar gets up enough interest over time to do these things. They take effort and attendance; 2 things that aren't always built overnight.

Yes, HUGE thanks to the fellow BA's that shared some brews with me. I was the guy with the Stone 13th Anniversary, Troeg's Scratch 78, Lawson's Maple Nipple Ale. Thanks for the awesome event Duckworths. Glad I was able to attend and grab some bottles.

 

FYI Total Wine should be getting 3 cases today (Nov 27) around 5m. Im guessing Leif is bringing it then.

Im anxisouly waiting for the call from them.

Also, Beer Study has a cask and cases for sale starting Firday Nov 30.
