What is Fake Doctor Pete - another private barrel deal?

Yes. Same goes for The Gang Goes Camping.

Based on online commentary from people who were in on these barrels, it sounds like these two and the previous two are all Aslin is doing. That's just my reading, though, and was not stated expressly.

Based on a number of recent releases and other decisions, I'm starting to think Richard may have been both the brewing talent and voice of basic reason at Aslin. Across the board, things have felt very different since his departure.

Any of you traders on this thread have a can of Bringing Sexy Back that was released a few days back you would be willing to part with as part of a larger trade? I posted on the ISO:FT forum but got no response. PM me if interested.

It's hard to say. From the Wiley Roots C&D, it sounds like the reintroduction (i.e. making it a series) and the explicit mention is what triggered the C&D. Aslin makes veiled references in the branding but nothing explicit (Wiley Roots put their name where Sonic would be on the Sonic logo). Wiley took the C&D as a matter of pride, and I wouldn't be surprised if Aslin did the same.

I also don't know how you can release this beer and have such thin skin when made fun of for it.

I had one of those beer slushies at Wiley Roots this summer and damn, it was surprisingly really good.

What do you mean? Did Aslin delete a bunch of posts or something?

Don't Drink Beer posted something about it and there was some back and forth between DDB and Aslin. It's covered here.

These guys are too full of themselves, I know I am only one customer but I stopped going to Aslin for several months now with no plans to go back anytime soon.

When you're the best in the DMV, you're going to get a big head, right? Wait until Other Half arrives, that will take them down a notch.

I think they are confident with what they are doing, but the few times I have met them they were extremely nice and humbler. Why do you feel that way?

Not sure they have a big head. Other Half is good, but IMO is a peer to Aslin. They will compliment each other and likely not take business from one another. Will probably take more business away from the lower tier breweries.

There's at least a 10% chance that YP:MP is literally green.

They are probably more humble in person but after reading/listening to interviews with Kai and/or Andrew, to me, those guys come off as overconfident and a bit arrogant. Which is good in some ways but at times, it's better to keep your mouth shut and hold that stuff inside.

Understood, I think they are just blunt and speak what is on their mind. For me that is refreshing. I want a brand to shoot to be the best and because they say it they get shit. I think if you asked them where they think they are versus what they think they can be, then we all would have a different perspective on them. The internet and social media does no good to brands, the people behind the brands, or celebrities, etc and is constantly negative and going after those that have had some success.

As a guy thats had a ton of OH and a good amount of Aslin recently, I would say for stouts and sours Aslin is a world ahead of OH. I would give the edge to OH for IPAs but when Aslin puts out their best they’re not far behind.

I would agree that OH puts out my consistent IPAs at this point.
