I survived work, and now I'm home. Time for some medicine, thanks to @FFFjunkie for this mystery beer thar is around 15%. Very much needed, and I'm going to enjoy it watching the live Uchuu Senken Yamato movie.

Here's my thoughts on it, and, once I unwrap it, I'll put this into said beer as a review. It's a BA stout or RIS. I love my big stouts.

    Look 4.75
    Aroma 4.75
    Taste 5
    Feel 5
    Overall 4.75

Pours pitch black. Very thick pouring beer. For a 15% beer there was actually a bit of a tan/brown head, and it actually lasted a little bit. The bit of head dissipated to a thin ring around the glass
Aroma - It's a deep, rich aroma. Lots of caramel on the nose. I also get dark fruit. A hint of chocolate. Slightly boozy smelling. Powerful nose, and a lot going on with it.
Taste - Like the nose it's a deep, rich stout, or RIS. Caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, toffee
Feel - This is a 15% beer, but there's almost no burn, but has a slight warming feel. It is thick and smooth feeling.
Overall - This is a top notch beer. Thick, rich, strong, tasty, amazing. Just amazing.

I think I picked the right glass for this. I've poured my second glass, and I was a bit aggressive with the pour. There was actually a lot of head with this pour. It did dissipate fairly fast, but I was surprised with the 2 finger head with the 2nd pour. Still haven't unwrapped it, but totally enjoying it, along with the movie.

Nope. First ever. Just in shock.

Work was total crazy today, I'm beat from it. This, along with the movie - that I've seen several times before - is really making me feel better.

Anyone else have to google Ichuu Senken Yamato? I am familiar with Wilfred Brimley however....

That’s great. Dark Lord is on the sweeter side but it will vary by year - some years it’s pretty good, others not so much. The BA variants are usually out of this world though!

It started as a tv show in 1974. 2 more seasons followed. There were several movies. Then in, around 2009 a live action movie was made based on the series. That's what i'm watching. There was an animated movie follow up to the series made around the same time. A few years later there was an animated remake of the original seires made Yamato 2199 and Yamato 2202. There's another animated one in the works, and I wonder where the third is going to go?

Damn, I'm drunk, and very much needed.

Alright, just getting started on @Buck89 ’s blind review. Based on how this poured and the faint lager aroma I’m getting I’m going to say this is well bellow the 14% mark. Be back with the results.

Ok definitely light like a lager but this is a little weird and funky. Kind of getting an oxidized, slightly smoky flavor. Pretty sure I haven’t had a beer like this. But I’m still sticking with some type of lager. Be back with the reveal.

Coming down to the last of Dark Lord. Dome with the Yamato movie, and on to the Redd Foxx Live on Location video.

I loved Sanford and Son as a little kid. It's weird that a little kid from a - then -small suburb of Minneapolis would have a connection with an old junk dealer from Watts. I did.

As I've gotten older and decrepit, and I've gotten into his party records, and his comedy videos.
Heck, I gave my nephew my copy of his "You Gotta Wash Your Ass" party album, because he's gotten into improv comedy. I also gave him a Sam Kinison album.

Got to educate the younger generation.
