In your discussion you mentioned "just a hint of astringency". I also picked up astringency in this year's batch and I am not a fan of this aspect.

    Cheers!

It's great. Far better than the founders harvest ale I was let down by this year.

Something about this beer I’m not liking. The wet hops feel acidic in my throat, almost to the point where the only sip I taste is the first one. After that I’m kinda suffering palette fatigue.

That is astringency you are perceiving here.

    Cheers!

Just tried my first of these from a bottle and it's certainly not the same as it was on tap. I see the chalky and astringent characters that jack pointed out and the flavor is especially muted compared to on tap. the aroma is still nice and bright but not as bombastic as it was from the keg

Landing in Louisiana. Ain't tried it yet, but I haven't had a bottle since the 2016 batch.

How Lagunitas can deliver this quality and the scale they do year in and year out is amazing. The 2019 vintage once again delivers one of the best or IMHO, the best fresh hop ale experience you can buy off a shelf. The 19' is a Mosaic showcase.

    Cheers,

I tried to buy a case today, but the store I was in had a huge line. Being me I loudly walked away in indignation. Totally going back tomorrow morning. I hate myself.

I picked up two singles and have had one and I am not too into this year's, has an onion/garlicky smell and while the taste thankfully didn't match it's just okay to me. I will let the next bottle sit for a week or two and see if it evolves.

A shell of what it once was. Smells much better than it tastes and wanders into the thin, watery category for me. 1 six pack for me and done. A few years ago I was so blown away by this one I bought a case and a half. Oh well, things change I guess.

I found this years to be on par with the past couple years, good but not as good as 2016. Part of this is possibly due to getting the 2016 beer 2 days after bottling vs ~2 weeks, which has been the case for the past few years.

    It was good!

I’ve stopped comparing it to 2016. That was was firmly in the New England IPA camp in my opinion.

If I think of this beer purely as a wet hopped IPA, then I think it fits the bill. Grassy, resiny, dank, and even a bit fruity. Mouthfeel is sharper and crisper, leaning more towards a West Coast in feel than a New England.

I snagged two bottles and I’m good with that.
