will get naysayers but it seems clear GI figured out the barrels they've been reduced to aren't built to withstand third use. pretty sure they tried to "1-2-3" the last Rare barrels. sounded like that failed too.

 

Perhaps the best bet is for GI to get into the distilling business and put some distilled BCBS in new oak, then put the barleywine in those 2nd use barrels.

 

So we wont see Double Barrel one at different state except for Chicago?

I don't have any inside information, but it sounds likely. I was mostly commenting on Chicago not being a state.

Totally understandable! 2019: millions to go online and lie every day about almost anything. I dunno if its our minds playing tricks on us (cue Geto Boys, awww shit, it actually is close to Halloween) as much as just being assailed with lies all day every day that makes us rightfully cynical when something doesn't seem on the up and up.

Hence, I'm totally down w "trust but verify" now more than ever. Will shout back out when I pop one (Nov 2 at the latest Nevada/New Mexico home football game).

 

Sounds like I need to go poke around the rural packy where I found bcbs last year, just sitting on a bottom shelf. They never struck me as the type to pay too much attention to the rules

Nice! I visited there in Summer of 2016 and the fact that they had BC on tap and 2015 bottles in the cooler was pretty foreign to me, being an NC resident.
