Has Deth's hit Binny's and the like yet? Sorry if I missed this info earlier in the thread...

I didn't get the same drop-off. The coffee remained consistent for me, it was a little less sweet, all other characteristics matched the draft pour.

I only bought four as I wanted to drink within a few weeks and not have the drop-off felt on your end. Sorry you didn't enjoy the cans as much.

It was at OP Binny's yesterday. Large stack of Deth and Cafe. Maybe 3 cases of Plums. It hit down south by me on Friday. We also saw distro of all 3.

Also have not had it on draft yet. Did you have the can on a fresh pallate? First can I had Friday evening was very coffee forward on all fronts. I had another can yesterday night an hour or so after splitting an IPA and a P3 Pressed with my wife. Didn't seem nearly as coffee forward, but assumed it had a lot (all) to do with the beer I had prior.

As @flat_lander said, I think it has to do with palates. I had it on draft on preview night as well (right after a Plums), and it seemed like one of the most coffee-forward stouts I've ever had, with very little bourbon heat. I opened my first can over the weekend and the coffee didn't seem quite as forward at first, and the heat came through a bit more. By the time I got to the end of the glass, the two seemed to switch, and it was more like the draft pour I had.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will take the advise of making sure I try it with a clean palate. i still have 3 left. I will say the aroma and taste from the draft pour hit me like a ton of bricks, in a good way. It would be awesome to replicate that three more times!

Glad they are doing this for a second year. Drinking a cask pour of Coffee Eugene at The Beer Temple, most excellent.

Rothaus Pils also on tap, definitely one of the best Pils pours I had this year.

I'm apparently too dumb to successfully multiquote so just going to add to the 2019 DT mega-love pile-on. Cracked my first can Sunday and plan to buy more today.

So @Veliksta1, did I miss an actual announcement for the second batch of Strawberry Jacket release outside of this event?

Was wondering the same...is this from the same batch as the summer release, or is it a second batch?

In the barleywine world, I think "fresh" might be a bit different than in the IPA world.
