Can anyone add their $0.02 on The quality of ZD cans? Is this the same taste as the bottled version or is this more in-linewith the OG version before the quality began to take a decline.

I haven't had the new 12 oz cans, but the first initial runs of the big cans were still pretty underwhelming to me. Nothing like the old dust used to taste.

Nothing could ever possibly taste as good as OG ZD. It was like the first rock and roll band or the first hip hop group- nothing would ever be the same again. This was THE first citra beer for a large contigent of people and the results were eye opening.

I had a can of Zombie Dust this weekend and it was still a great beer.

I still get fresh packs when I stop in the brewpub and it still tastes amazing. I am guessing if you think it is different, then it is just the aura of it as stated above. The beer hasn't changed, you have

I've been a ZD homer for a long time and always argued that it was palates changing for people that dislike it nowadays. However, I was forced to admit that the first can release did not right, even compared side-by-side with bottles. No idea what it could have been, but something was a bit off (by no means undrinkable, but just not quite the same). It was the first time I've thought that.

I know FFF is notorious for being tight-lipped on their plans, but I have been drinking their beers for over ten years and I can't EVER remember them going this long without releasing one of their flagship Double IPA's. It been months (and over a year for some) since I have seen Dreadnaught, Permanent Funeral, Artic Panzer Wold, Berzerker, War Mullet, etc. Perplexing to say the least!

    I'd drink those cans.

Do they usually do a second round of Alpha Klaus (I see it is no longer available at the brewery)?

Went to the pub last night and had a couple pours of "Bobby Goes Camping is Robert The Bruce aged in Dark Lord barrels with graham crackers, marshmallows and cacao"

Thought it was really well done and a nice BA pastry scotch ale! The marshmallow and Graham cracker lingered on the back end, didn't get much barrel but man, very well balanced flavors otherwise.

There’s stuff going around distro right now so you should be able to get some in the area

Good observation! Perhaps they can’t think of which of their 7 bottle/ can formats to release them in (do we really need 7 formats). Or how to price them in one of the new formats, as the historical per ounce price would be cringe worthy (anyone for a $35.00 4-pack of Permanent Funeral).

No! And while were at it, let’s hope we’ve seen the last of the stove pipe can (20-22oz.) format as well.

That is the beauty of it; Three Floyds has actually been LOWERING their prices. Last year, Quaanto was $15 for a bomber (22oz) and this year it was $24 for a four pack of 500 ml bottles (67 oz). Same for BrooDoo, Munsterfest, Alpha Klaus, you name it. Zero chance they charge $35 for Permanent Funeral when their Triple IPA was only $24. The question is...why have they not released one of their flagship DIPA's in ages?

Probably because the supply of their higher margin beers has not caught up to the demand for it. When you have capacity limits and willing buyers make what makes you the most money.

Indeed, the prices have been reduced dramatically which begs the question why were we paying, in some cases, almost 50% more!? Yes, there is no way they charge $35 for PF, but what will they charge? Right now they appear to be doing “non flagship” IPAs/DIPAs in the newer formats and releasing them in pub only or limited distribution (i.e Cheerteam at $20). The question is would people buy Dreadnaught or Permanent Funeral at retail (with tax) for $25ish a 4-pack? PF may sell initially, however, given all the competition I am guessing they would eventually collect dust. Perhaps they are not releasing them because they won’t sell in the new formats, beyond the pub, and now we expect another format as the bomber is dead.

Great question. For me, Dreadnaught, Permanent Funeral and Artic Panzer Wolf are so much better than just about anything else on shelves; that I was more than willing to buy the bombers. Again, with no tax, the bombers were not that bad of a deal. Considering they sold out of PF bombers within 1-3 days; I have no doubt they will have zero issues selling $25 four packs (which they would likely cost less based on Quaanto's pricing).

So to answer your question...yes, I will buy

Why haven’t they released any new BA stouts or beers in 750ml format lately? Geordannay and BA behemoth have been at the kiosk more than a year.
