I don't think this beer moves as well as their others, probably scaled back production quite a bit if I had to guess. It did used to be everywhere.

It’s as good as I remember it. In fact it tastes more unique now than ever. The Belgian style yeast gives a little pepper spice note, and that combined with a roasty char of the dark malts results in it ultimately drinking dry which flies in the face of the pastry character so many stouts have these days.

Saw 5th Avenue Liquors in Millis post that they have it, not exactly close to Boston but I expect it'll pop up at more spots in the coming days

Even if people don't think Founders is a gross company (they seem pretty gross at the moment imo), that Lawson's Fayston that's been going around is better than any Founders stout I've had in like five years anyway.

Amherst Sugar Maple Nut is an under-appreciated beauty of a stout.

If I'm going to start boycotting companies for being gross I'll probably have to stop buying a lot of things.

I'll just buy a single or two of CBS and Fayston and then go about my day.

I totally agree. If we were to boycott anything that was gross at the top level, I'd have moved out of this country for the duration of this administration.

Sticking to beer for this, I think now that we have distinct beer choices, it's easy to find alternatives that I'd rather support. That's certainly the luxury of the 2019 beer world. Sure, there are lots of businesses with crummy people, but Founders is in an industry I know well, that I frequently purchase goods from within. I'm an educated consumer that chooses to not overlook their shittiness.

That said, buy Maple Brigadiero too if you want an alternative to CBS. Those San Miguel folks don't need anymore money. Remember when we boycotted breweries for not being "independent?" This one isn't independent and racist.

I guess, but they're so acutely gross right now, AND their recent track record beer wise is unremarkable at best AND there's a million competitive beers in the same category AAAAANNNNNNDDDDDD their stuff is still expensive as fuck. At least when you sell your soul to Bezos they give you like 5% off at Wholefoods.

I tend to agree, but this is a super easy one. Both morally and as a consumer. As is being discussed, there are plenty of alternative options.

I want this beer to be a replacement so bad but it's been continually way too thin.

I get it. But we are only privy to the details made to the public, and while we have some of the facts, we never know all of the details. I've been through two law suits myself and what gets released publicly is no way near the entire story. As with most things in life, there's usually some truth on both sides.

In fact, in one of the law suits, I was involved in it and STILL didn't know all of the facts because it was settled out of court.

If people want to boycott something, especially in this case because it's easy to do, that's cool with me. Me, I happily drank a Founders Harvest Ale Sunday night with the Pats game, and don't feel a bit of guilt for it.

I'll choose to be a good person every day to people I directly know and care about, and can tangibly see that I'm making an impact on their lives.

Burlington Wine and Spirits had CBS 2 4packs per person $25 each. Picked up a 4 pack of that and Fayston Maple stout

Sorry to have unwittingly taken this thread off track. Everyone is of course free to do what they want, but in the end I agree with @mrmattosgood. Picked up some Fayston Maple and will hope that what was probably a hefty settlement check causes Founders to clean up its act. Thanks for the reminder.

I don’t think it got off-track. Someone was looking for a specific beer in a specific style, and offered them an alternative.

I just choose to side with non-racists than people who might-be-racist-but-we-don’t-know-for-sure. Simple choice to me.
