So is the fish bowl entries for regular or for variants as well?

Allowing proxies is absurd, well except for those seeking max profits.

So they've gone from shit show with weasels cutting lines and taking all variants to online shit show?

Well at least I won't have to wear pants while paying!

Pretty much. Although I thought the line and release for Benthic last year was pretty smooth. You just had shitlords who took all variants because HA waxed regular so close in color to one of the variants. And even then, I only heard of a few instances of it. The online shit, with proxies on top of it, is just going to guarantee that many of us will get shut out of it in favor of a bunch of flippers looking for #maxprofitz

For every instance you heard about...there were many, many more.

I think there are so many details of this release that HA should be commended. Smaller format size, pre-determined bundles, reasonable prices, flexible pickup option, etc. It's just they completely fucked up by allowing proxies.

Well, there's still time to change that; everyone yell at them on social media!

I got to say, I'm impressed that people have already had out of state traders reach out to them asking them to be proxies. How many beer threads do all these people monitor??

I suppose if I were serious enough to be reaching out to people across the country to pick up $110 worth of beer for me, I'd be plugged directly into my PC like Neo in the Matrix.

I was actually wondering if there was anyway they might change the proxy aspect of it. Technically they could and not really screw over anyone, but I'm guessing they won't change it.

Yeah, I kind of hope this happens (regardless of whether or not I get to buy anything). Since the sale isn't until next week, they're not putting anyone out as long as they change the announcement soon.

Proxies aside, I predict this is going to result in the most complaints about the online sale:

“FYI, ticket inventory is not held until payment has been submitted and your Order Confirmation screen displays”

Have your CC#s handy folks, good luck and hope everyone gets what they want.

will gladly take regular benthic for the contents of the overall package, but i hope they really dialed up everything this year. 2018 was quite a letdown for me.

overall though, can't complain too much when we're getting 128 ounces of BA beer vs. 88 ounces last year for the same price.

You have to get it first.

Likely harder to do this year.

I talked with the owner of Half Acre at FOBAB and said how I’m looking forward to the Benthic release, but I’m never lucky with those online/ticketed releases. He said “I wouldn’t worry, I think you’ll be ok.” Hopefully that means that they made a ton of it... Or he’s telling me to get a life and not worry about beer. I’ll assume the former

He just means that you'll easily be able to find it on the secondary market :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Just my opinion but I think this will be fairly easy to get if you want it. If you are talking about the full package, you are approaching $15/per can of beer after fees. I think we have already seen a more cost conscience shift in consumers for the higher end of craft beer. With the enormous amount of options and beers like CBS sitting for days, I think you guys will be fine. That being said, I could also be wrong! Good luck to all those trying to get this one.

Half Acre seems to have some of the most devoted fans in the city who are used to paying big bucks for packages like this. Especially with proxies, I'm guessing the variants sell out in minutes. I do get the vibe they made quite a bit of regular Benthic though.
