Great Notion in MA/RI

    On November 9th we welcome our friends from Great Notion Brewing out of Portland Oregon. We will be starting the festivities at 10 am with scheduled tapping of 4 beers paired with brunch dishes. Throughout the day as beers kick we will be tapping other Great Notion beers on draft. All beer is first come first serve and there is no tickets to this event. All beer and food will be a la carte. We will be tapping the following beers throughout the day.

    Double Stack- Imperial Breakfast Stout fermented with a irresponsible amount of maple syrup & aged on whole bean Sumatra from Clutch Coffee.

    Jammy Pants- Kettle sour fermented with "pantfulls" of marionberry, boysenberry, and blueberry puree.

    Blueberry Muffin- Tart and whimsical blueberry treat will remind you of a freshly baked blueberry muffin.

    Luminous 5- Sour IPA fermented with passion fruit, dragon fruit, milk sugar, and vanilla bean.

    Puppy Love- Session IPA brewed to be a easy drinker with Citra, Amarillo, and Sabro hops.

    Pineapple Juice Invader- New England IPA bursting with Galaxy hops and fresh squeezed pineapple juice.

    Juice Jr.- Session New England IPA with a insane amount of mosaic hops and lots of love. Little brother to the JB DIPA.

    JB DIPA - Double New England IPA ~ Bursting with Mosaic hops and aromas of peach, mango, and passion fruit. Creamy smooth mouthfeel and mellow bitterness.

    I saw it on FB. I believe it is a screenshot of their IG story. I called a few of the places listed and they all don’t have any yet.

    Interesting. Also, I am going to be in Providence on Saturday but I don't have a lot of spare time. I wonder if Rogue Island will be a madhouse.

    Same, was told a place would have them soon. The beers are Ripe, So Wrong it’s Ripe, and JB—sadly no stouts.

    Rogue Island isn't huge and their brunch is excellent so it can be a madhouse basically any midday Saturday. I'd say the biggest crowd will be from maybe 11:30-2pm or so.

    I didn't make it. I only hit Long Live, Buttonwoods, and Proclamation. I am such a failure.
    The beer woman at Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge said it is coming but she didn't have any further details. I don't even know if I believe that.

    Haven't seen anything on the can front. Heard last Friday or yesterday, but don't believe that came to fruition

    The Beer Shop in East Longmeadow got their shipment in today. A bit far for me, but if anyone is in that area they have the 3 mentioned above.

    You hear anything about the price? I wonder if it is going to be automatically $20+ or if it will come in like Toppling Goliath did at like $14-16.

    They are only selling single cans 1 of each pp. They said they only got 1 case of each. It's to long of a hike for me for that. So I did not inquire any further. But they are starting to arrive in Mass.

    If i'm going that far west, i'm driving straight through to Suarez and not looking back.

    Crafted in Holliston had cans yesterday. Mixed 4 pack came out to $24. High, but I was expecting it to be even a few dollars higher.

    My friend in LA said he saw 4pks priced over $30 when they did a limited drop there a while back. So consider MA.....lucky...?

    Swung by Yankee Norwood around noon. They got the drop. Snagged a 4 pack of Juice Box for $24 and a 4 pack of Ripe for $22. Steep but I'll pay the premium to see what the Great Notion hoopla is all about.

    I've had Space Invaders in a trade in the past and it was great.

    Other hazebro friends of mine who have traveled out there all rave about it. So I'll check it out. Going to stop by Kappy's in Fall River tonight to see if they got their drop. I suspect that's not a location that'll get raided by haze hunters immediately.
