Would help to specify beers, breweries. There are literally hundreds of breweries in both regions lol

I don't know a whole lot about those regions and am thus open to reasonable offers that don't try to take advantage. Cheers.

Editing to add that of course headliners like Three Floyds, Toppling Goliath, Other Half, Trillium, Treehouse are of interest. Also into learning and experiencing new breweries.

Probably stay away from Three Floyds, their recent beers haven't been all that good lol

Most of them, in all honesty. I recently had a can of Alpha King and that was mediocre at best. They had a new stout a few months ago and that was subpar as well. Lazer Snake was a letdown too. There is just too much good beer out there. Bodhi, M43, Boss Tweed, Masthead hops, Dancing Gnome blow away any IPAs Three Floyds is doing these days. BA Coffee Vanilla Underverse is way better than any dark beer you can get from Three Floyds at the store. I used to be a big fan 2-3 years ago, but they really have not kept up with the times.

exactly what i love about Floyds. in a sea of NEIPA juice bombs that all taste the same they go the opposite direction and have been making some killer lagers. Region X, Psychonaught, Flying Tigersault..the list goes on.

Sounds like you only enjoy one style of IPA, and that's personal preference. I think if someone knows they like FFF, or Midwest/West Coast style IPAs, they know FFF performs consistently well in that arena.
I'm not a fan of pitting good beers against each other, and shitting on one of them just because I prefer it less.

Masthead has done some great stuff and I'm glad we have such easy access to them in NEO.

FFF set the bar for many, particularly when it comes to pastry stouts before there was a such thing as pastry stouts, and big beer release festivals in general. You might think they've been surpassed, others would disagree. The festival is still second to none because of the massive free for all share, and many breweries have blown Dark Lord's sweetness way out of the water, in a bad way. Quality hasn't faltered, they keep doing new things despite your proclamation, continue to work on more and more barrel aged beers, and remain fiercely independent--which, considering how long its been, how successful they are and where they're located, is the most impressive part of it all to me.

The Bodhi I mentioned isn’t a hazy beer; as far as I know, Columbus doesn’t do hazy hops and their beers consistently blow away Three Floyd’s. The same goes for Fat Heads, Brew Kettle, and a few there locally. Maybe it’s personal taste? But there is so much good beer out there. When you see Lunch from Maine on the shelf, hard to go with Alpha King. In terms of lagers, check out Victory, Suarez, etc.

No reason to argue, I guess it’s personal preference. I accept some of your points for sure. For what is available on the market though, Three Floyd’s has fallen behind. The OP was looking to trade and it doesn’t make sense to trade for Three Floyds with all that’s out there. Much better breweries for hops, stouts, sours, and lagers.

I went to Dark Lord day once, it was okay. Nothing special in all honesty. I would much rather go to Voodoo’s good vibes or spend the day at HF. Even most of the BA DLs they put out are terrible, including the Port version I got in 2015 lol It’s kind of sad when you are only relevant for one fest a year. They do have a proven track record and achieved a lot but they have fallen off.

Honestly, we had Life’s Distracton from Solera next to Handjee 2018, and LD won for everyone. Hazelnut Cocoa Modnight Stil best Handjee 2019 the next year. Even at their upper tier it’s hard to compete.

In all honesty, I have not been to a bottle share in two years where somebody opened a non BA DL beer from them. Even DL is known for being straight soy sauce and nobody even seeks it out.

My god, I got all kinds of whiplash from reading those 3 posts.

First thing's first, we don't know what, specifically, the trader here is interested in trading for so to advise them to not trade for a particular brewery at all is a very wide brush to paint with, considering FFF's catalog. There's a lot of assumptions and misleading suggestion that follow. If they wanted to trade for a BA Behemoth, okay, they might be on track. A BA DL, they'd have to add, undoubtedly. And for good reason.

But not everyone's trading for whales or dolphins.

There are plenty of people that love to do locals for locals that don't have access to FFF distribution. To just straight up declare their beer isn't worthy is ridiculous--as if it's fallen off or taken a turn for the worse--is not just straight up disingenuous, but a lie.
I mean, I've had some pretty meh batches of Bodhi, particularly this past summer, so...none of these proclamations are set in stone. I don't think any comparable style by Columbus (and yes, they've done a few stellar NE IPAs), or Fat Head's blows away anything by FFF. I think they're at a similar level on certain styles and there's no reason to take away from one or the other. But at the same time, FFF has a much wider range of styles done well--just a simple fact that there are beer styles that Fat Heads or Columbus simply choose not work with often, or at all. Brew Kettle has a wider range but also lower bar when it comes to quality, depending on the style.
It sounds like you swing in extremes, which is fine, but it helps to recognize that. To only play the hype game and not concern yourself with general quality and consistency for every day beer is to exclude yourself from considerations others, such as this trader, might be making. You're onto the next new thing with no care for what's come before it and paved the way, even if it might be more consistent or considerably better.

If 2015 was the only DLD you went to, that was a terrible year for the fest experience, and also one of the least appreciated batches of DL. That said, there was no Port variant in 2015, but QHY in 2016 was definitely one of the worst wine BA DLs, almost as sweet as many modern pastry stouts these days. No one's ever put QYH in high regard, but to say most BA DLs they put out are terrible is, frankly, ridiculous hyperbole.
Are you suggesting this trader to attempt to trade the listed beers for LD or MS variants, legitimately? Rich AF might get him one, but the rest would likely need a lot of help. Personally, I haven't been too impressed by most of Holy Mountain's clean BA beers, but due to their smaller size the value is going to be higher. I think they have a more deft hand at their wild ales. Either way, neither of those breweries you mention lie within the area OP mentioned and aren't helpful.
Are bottle shares the only settings in which you drink beer?
Never heard that one. Oh, but no need to argue...
