Yep. However, I'm not sure I'm into Ocelot's shift towards making their IPAs a bit softer and more NEIPA-like. Their beers are still fantastic, but I miss the crispness many of their IPAs used to have.

I have not been very shy about voicing the fact that I am very much into them. I do wish they rotated a little less and we saw something like Seamless a little more (it reminds me of Trillium's Fort Point Pale Ale from several years ago).

Completely agree, I pass on all their IPAs that use the 'House Ale 3' yeast and/or any type of oat in the malt.

Well I hate to share this but the canned DOS was the same as the draft. Harsh hops throughout and seemingly unfinished. I had high hopes that this was just a on draft occurrence but not the case. Hopefully the next iteration will be closer to the mark.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one with these suspicions. I've had a good number of these high ABV Aslin stouts, and not only do they not taste boozy, but they don't leave me as tipsy (or drunk) as similar ABV beers do. There is no way that the labels are accurate.

I don't want to single out Aslin because I do think that this is a problem that exists at other breweries, but quality control and hitting numbers shouldn't be an issue at "world class" or world class wannabe breweries.

I plan on going to the Black Friday bottle release. How early should I get there to have a chance to get each bottle at the Herndon location? I was thinking 2 hours but probably leaning towards 3 hours?

You probably need to wait until they announce the limits/bottle count at each location to get a good answer. If it ends up being something like 500 full allotments (I'd guess much less than 500) then you probably don't need to get there very early but you'll probably wait in a long slow line.

FWIW, I plan on dropping a chair or two in front around 4am. Fuck sitting outside in the cold for hours.

Last bottle drop they did was only 20 cases at Herndon, while ALX had 50 cases... I have to drive 3.5hrs to get to one of the Aslin locations. Hopefully they will release the details this week but probably won't until Wed. next week

I might be sitting on one of those chairs if i get there pretty early

3.5 hour drive to stand in line? Wow...sounds like fun. . Anyone know if Aslin has gotten any better with the IPAs? I like Cortes for a lower ABV, but not sure if it’s gonna suck based off their recent production.

Only at Aslin is 7% considered low ABV, 7% is practically a DIPA.

Normally I just get my friend to get what ever is left over in the afternoon. I'm mostly after the Yips since it has my name on it. Wanted to keep it for my stash. Also will be visiting friends, so it's not that bad

Tapped Master of Oranges and Champion of The Sun were great during my last visit maybe 2 weeks ago. Double and Triple Orange Starfish were bad and this was the same for double in cans. Stouts were good. I can’t speak to anything more recent but at least you can try before you buy now.

That's $360 plus tax for 12 bottles of beer. Do people really want to spend more than that on one beer haul? It's beer, not your wife's Xmas present.

You should see the hauls at Tree House. People rolling out with 7 or 8 cases at around roughly $100/case. People regularly drop that much up at HF between bottles, cans and growler fills

I was hoping it would be a limit of 3 of each. I can drink one and save one for later.

Some will probably resell or trade
