Fake news. Witch hunt. No collusion between the distributor and consumers.

So many people with BCBS on shelves...makes me nuts. We got one drop in upstate Western NY and then crickets. I’d like to try some varieties, but for whatever reason, the distributor feels a need to freeze us out. If other regions are going to let it get dusty, maybe the distributors across different regions/states could work out a little swap program instead of letting product and profits die on the shelf.

Where have you seen them? I can't find any shops with them still. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Any variants?

Javies near Ivy Ridge train station had them for a pretty long time, not sure if they still do. Prices were nuts though.

We're reportedly getting three variants, but they haven't said which three.

Last year I got one bottle. I've never tasted a variant. Arkansas has a few advantages with beer distro (although not many) but BCBS is not one of them. :slight_frown:

I just saw 2019 standard BCBS in Pittsburgh for $19/bottle. Seems a bit expensive this year? What other prices are out there?

I had a 2017 bottle today. Phenomenal stuff. I’ll pick up a case of this year’s if I can (we had a 3-bottle limit last year).

$19 for BCBS is a ripoff imo. Prices vary but 11.99 seems to be a typical price.

I opened my last Midnight Orange a couple months ago. The label says it will develop in the bottle for only 2 years, and after hearing reports that the Orange was already fading, I decided not to wait. Glad I did. Even though the Orange was still there, it was being dominated by dark chocolate. That said, when I drank it, it was still very enjoyable.

Twas not bad but not a $25 enjoyable. The Orange no longer apparent with the chocolate after just 12 months.

That's insane. That said, I wouldn't buy it if it was a dollar a six-pack. AB can piss up a rope.

Haven’t for a few years similar to Knob. EC did substitute the barrel strength with its 12 yr aging to “throw us off.”

Some insiders have told me that there is just a ton of stuff being aged right now. With the “boom” and craft spirits- esp the “super premium” side, they expect a LOT of older stuff to make its way out. I am hopeful that this comes with a wane in interest. In my parts it has become crazy how hard to get stuff easily available just 4-5 years ago has become.

AND perhaps a better availability of quality barrels for aging will follow!

Seems they dropped the age statement I believe to be able to use younger whiskies, especially the 12 yr. I believe I did see an 18 yr old EC but the higher end stuff is what it is. I’m on a Wild Turkey 101 run their mash bill suits me, but I do love the the KC 120 proof too, it’s about $50 here. With no age statement they can use 6/8 year old stuff instead of 12-14, they make more money.
