A certain home-brew factor - Scale is smaller with a predominance on one style. Think "Thiccc" pastry realm without the attenuation of upsizing + rarity and price prestige clutch attention

Should I get cans of Birdcage or Roc Showers? Going to a party and only want to bring one 4 pack, but these both seem pretty good.

DD is pretty damn tasty. Def getting some big time melon notes.

Roc Showers is solid, has coconut notes from the Sabro.

Wish I could say the same for this frozen raspberry crunchee thing. 1st impression is not sour enough and a bit muddled. Is yogurt an ingredient in most of this series?

I also picked up the bird cage but haven’t tried it yet. Hop blend looked promising.

Sorry I know this probably isn’t much help now - but just cracked one. I think it’s pretty solid. Better than the couple of mediocre ratings it’s gotten so far. I’m enjoying it more than the last broccoli I picked up

I like to look snobishly at the OH Facebook page every once in a while for humorous opinionated posts, but I have to give credit where credit is due and say this is the best meme I’ve ever seen posted there, and will be using this from time to time...

Edit: and of course, I have no idea how to post a pic here so it didn’t show up. It’s the comic book Simpsons guy critiquing a beer, use your imagination.

Not even giving us some of the classics for the holiday

Vapor Ringz is a borderline new classic at this point, but yea I'm hoping they announce some more core stuff. I'm sure there'll be some Roc options as well.

Has anyone ever been to Other Half's NYE party? If so how is it? I'll be flying in for NYE with my wife who also enjoys craft beer and we're thinking about going. We've only been to OH once but I was wondering does the party take place in their tap room or do they have another space? It's been a while but I remember it being really small when we visited. We'll also be with another person who doesn't drink much but is still interested in going, so I was just trying to get a gauge if it'd also be fun for them as well.

Does anyone have any other fun NYE recommendations?

Shitty over priced sugar water that all the instanerds fall over themselves to tick because social media told them it was cool. Most if not all of the beers produced by those guys are totally undrinkable unless you love the beetus beers. I put them up there with the other overpriced sugar water peddlers in Horus and Angry Chair.

If you haven't been to Other Half in a few years, they have a new taproom that's much bigger. As for the event I've never been because its $150 which is crazy but they do get some pretty crazy stuff for the guest taps so if that's your thing it might be worth it.

Had a great visit on Saturday. The tap room was busy but there was a good amount of space to find a spot.

Didnt try the 3 chiefs beer because I was not going to solo a bottle at 11am, also missed out on cans of HDHC by a bit as I was leaving..fuck

People get pretty agressive early in the morning huh? Was suprised how many groups were splitting bottles amongest 2 or 3 and also drinking fast and hard...

all in all was a good trip & i got a good laugh out of the few people there wearing hoodies with their name and IG tags on it

Not sure if you saw but a little further back in this thread someone posted the Instagram post that has all the details on the party. Sounds pretty cool on paper and I’m sure there will be some great OH and non-OH beers. Question is do you guys want to drop $450 where the ticket price is mostly built in alcohol, when you have a friend who doesn’t really drink. For some reason I feel like nobody ever posts the day after the prior years’ OH NYE events, going into detail about what the party was like. Maybe I missed those tho.

The only beer-centric thing I’ve ever done for NYE in NYC was the blind tiger event. I think that was prob the 2012>2013 party. Maybe the year before. Either way was not worth it at all. Tap list should have been way better and the promised rare bottle pours were pretty thin on the ground.

I don’t know if it’s an NYC thing or an American thing. Back in Scotland NYE is called Hogmanay and everyone (businesses and consumers alike) are just focused on having an awesome time. Here the focus seems to be pumping people for money and rarely (if ever) delivering.

My vote would be to look up some of the well-regarded NYC beer bars, find one that’s not doing a ticketed NYE event, and go there.

This times a million. NYE, much like Thanksgiving Eve, is amateur hour. I avoid going out on those 2 nights like the plague. Definitely a money drain too.

Hoping they don't add anything too hype inducing in so I can grab some stuff Wed afternoon. I want that Verdant, the one I was telling @frozyn and you about Sat is what they are reworking for this OH brewed version. The Verdant version was really good

Very excited to load up on Vapor Ringz. Probably a top 3 OH beer for me.

Won't be in town for tomorrow's Vapor Ringz release; if anyone is interested in grabbing me a 4-pack, I have a 4-pack of HVB Multichorus I snagged this weekend.

I think I ask this every time it’s released, but does Vapor Ringz have lactose?
