If anybody was lucky enough to get a spot and is interested in splitting it, please shoot me a message. I'm really only interested in some of the bottles (not the merch stuff).

Never been to any of the Jackie O's locations and I may finally check it out this week. What's the best place to visit ... taproom, brewpub or restaurant. It'll be an early afternoon visit. Thanks for the help

Get food at the Brewpub in town, cheese curds are the popular item and they do not disappoint. Then swing over to the taproom/production facility for to-go bottles.

Brewpub open for lunch, taproom opens at 2:00. It'd be a long walk from one to the other.

I just can't believe there's another possible infection issue. I know they've done everything they can, but damn that's upsetting.

Where can we read about this? My amateur search turned up nothing.

It would be more upsetting to me if they released it not being 100% confident in its quality. Feels like they covered their bases in respects to consumers.

Playing with barrels and adjuncts is like playing with fire and not expecting to get burned occasionally. You know the risk/rewards and you take the chance. If you aren't willing to accept the risk, don't play the game. Is there a brewery barrel aging beer that we can point to an example of a perfect record in quality control? Seems like everyone worth drinking has had issues at some point and it is only a matter of time until it happens again .

Who has had this many issues with packaged product over this long of a time span? I daresay no brewery. Usually you hear about this happening to a brewery once....if ever.

At least, in most brewery's cases, they don't announce a release until they're certain it's a sure thing, and they quietly dump stuff they had high hopes for. I think putting out early announcements for BA beer, and even a schedule in some cases, is partly shooting themselves in the foot. I guess they had a lot of confidence in their new procedures but its concerning to me that after all the additional steps they've taken they still can't nail it down...I'd love to learn more about what it actually is this time.

I still think the proximity of wild ales to the clean packaging in the same facility is the biggest gamble, unless they've moved it since I was last there...?

Pipeworks has had a rough go of it lately. The whole BA Murderous line was recalled. My bottle of The Hyper Dog was like spoiled milk. And this was the bottle I got to replace my BA Muderous.

I think it's also important to note that I hold no I'll will towards PW. They're response to the issues were exactly what a customer could hope for. I have the utmost confidence they'll figure their issue(s) out.

I think we can agree Goose Island's single incident has been beaten to death here, particularly considering it was caused by a strain not previously searched for. I don't think it fits at all.

Bruery and Pipeworks have at least had multiple instances, but I just don't recall seeing the same kind of wide ranging variety of beers negatively affected over such a long period of time elsewhere.

And for the GI example, who is to say this isn't the issue with Jackie O's? If GI can randomly discover something they never though could survive their sanitization process, who is to say this couldn't happen elsewhere, especially at a brewer with far less resources to throw at discovering the issue? My mechanic doesn't replace everything on the car when there is an issue, they replace the suspected part causing the issue and if that isn't it, they move on to the next one, and the next one, until finally I'm broke or they discover the issue (maybe I need a new mechanic)....BTW, Jackie O's can be taking reasonable steps each time to correct what they suspect is the issue, but it seems they have a few more steps to go before they locate the issue and implement the appropriate controls...

This is the point of my stating "I'd love to learn more about what it actually is this time."
They took some pretty drastic steps and outlined publicly what sounded like a pretty sound, foolproof process, so...again, this is why I'm curious to learn more.
How do you know your mechanic replaces anything?

FWIW I just popped a year old bottle of CG the other night and thought it was great - prob my favorite annual stout release that they do. Gonna run through a couple more bottles from the last year or so just to be safe.

Really curious what becomes of this new issue. If it's just these three beers then maybe it was something with the coffee? The language they used definitely points towards infection though.

FWIW, I opened a Tiramisu Brick Kiln a few weeks back, and it was fine. Only other JO beer I think I hold right now is an AB BK.
